Before you take the assessment

This is a single timed sitting whose job is to produce an honest baseline. It is worth nothing if it is taken in pieces, so read these first.

  • It runs in full screen. The test takes over the screen when it starts, the way the real computer-based test does.
  • Leaving it is counted. Switching away is recorded and warned about; the third time, the paper is submitted for you.
  • The clock runs for 30 minutes. Set aside that long, uninterrupted. It starts when you begin, keeps running if you close the tab, and submits the paper at zero.
  • 4 timed sections. Each section has its own limit, and a section you have finished cannot be returned to.

About this test

About the RBI Grade B Assessment Test

The RBI Grade B Assessment Test on Aptitude360 is a free, medium-level practice test of 30 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 30 minutes, with +1 for a correct answer and −0.25 for a wrong answer. Each question has five options, and the marking follows the RBI Grade B Phase 1 basis. Every section has its own timer, and the section times add up to 30 minutes.

Test pattern and marking

  • General Awareness: 8 questions, 5 minutes, +1/−0.25
  • English Language: 6 questions, 7 minutes, +1/−0.25
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 6 questions, 7 minutes, +1/−0.25
  • Reasoning Ability: 10 questions, 11 minutes, +1/−0.25

Topics covered

  • General Awareness: This section covers RBI history and the legal basis of CRR, banking structure (the 2019 Bank of Baroda merger and the headquarters of SIDBI and BIS), national income aggregates, the primary deficit and money market instruments such as Treasury Bills.
  • English Language: One reading comprehension passage on financial inclusion carries three questions. The other three are an error spotting question, a word-pair fill in the blank and a synonym in context.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: A data interpretation table on bank branch loan applications carries three questions. The other three are a quantity comparison based on quadratic equations, an arithmetic word problem on income and spending, and a missing-term number series.
  • Reasoning Ability: A puzzle on eight persons, their floors and their favourite colours carries four questions. The other six cover coded inequality, syllogism, coding-decoding, blood relations, direction sense and a two-step input-output question.

Every question shows its question type in square brackets at the top, for example [Puzzle / Seating Arrangement], [Reading Comprehension], [Data Interpretation] and [Economy], so you can see which part of the real exam pattern each question follows.

Key formulas to revise

  • Percentage change: \( \dfrac{\text{New} - \text{Old}}{\text{Old}} \times 100 \)
  • A as a percentage of B: \( \dfrac{A}{B} \times 100 \)
  • Roots of \( ax^{2}+bx+c=0 \), where \( a \neq 0 \): \( x=\dfrac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^{2}-4ac}}{2a} \)
  • Sum of roots: \( -\dfrac{b}{a} \)
  • Product of roots: \( \dfrac{c}{a} \)
  • Savings: \( \text{Income} - \text{Expenditure} \)

Who should take this test

This test suits RBI Grade B aspirants who want a timed check across all four Phase 1 sections. It helps you practise section-wise time management and judge when to attempt a question under negative marking.

How to use the solutions

Every question in this test comes with the correct answer and a short worked solution. After you submit, review your wrong answers first, then the questions you skipped, and compare your method with the given solution. Note the topics that cost you marks or time, and revise them before your next practice session.
