“I built ed-tech tools for years — until I realised the best tool in any classroom is still a great teacher.”
Founder: Aptitude360
After my B.Tech and MBA, I stepped into the ed-tech world — and quickly realized one truth: a great teacher can never be replaced by technology.
So I did something unusual. I joined classrooms at CL, Byju's, Chanakya IAS, and Pratham — not as a builder, but as a teacher — to truly understand what students needed.
10,000+ students later, with 1,000+ cracking CAT, UPSC, and other competitive exams, I founded Aptitude360 with one belief:
If Quant is your problem — Aptitude360 is your solution.
15+ years of classroom experience, helping students master Quant, Verbal & Logical Reasoning and Decision Making—regardless of their starting level.

The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur on behalf of the Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI) and is accepted by 250+ B-schools across India, including XLRI, XIM University, MDI, IMT, GIM, TAPMI, IRMA and MICA. XAT 2027 will be held on Sunday, 3 January 2027, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM in a single slot, and Chandigarh/Mohali is one of its 100+ test cities, so aspirants from Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula can take it close to home.
XAT 2027 registration opened on 15 July 2026 and closes on 6 December 2026. The admit card is expected around 20 December 2026 (tentative). Because XAT comes about a month after CAT, it gives CAT aspirants a strong second shot with very little extra preparation, except for Decision Making.

VALR has around 26 questions and is known for its dense reading comprehension, including poems and cartoons, and for critical reasoning that rewards careful reading over speed. XLRI describes the section as covering critical and analytical reasoning, reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar and related exercises such as para jumbles and cloze tests.
Practise with real papers: XAT 2025 VALR and XAT 2024 VALR with detailed solutions.
Decision Making is what makes XAT different from CAT. It has around 21 questions built on scenarios from personal and professional life, and asks you to apply critical thinking, problem-solving and prioritisation to choose the most sensible course of action. There is no formula to memorise, which is why most aspirants find it the hardest section to prepare for on their own.
The fastest way to learn DM is to solve past sets and discuss why one option is better than another. Start with XAT 2025 Decision Making and XAT 2024 Decision Making.
QA & DI has around 28 questions, the most of any XAT section, and is often the toughest scoring area for non-engineers. XLRI expects a foundational understanding of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, mensuration and modern maths, plus clear interpretation and analysis of data. This is exactly where Aptitude360's Quant-first teaching helps the most.
1. Arithmetic:
2. Algebra:
3. Geometry & Mensuration:
4. Number System & Modern Maths:
5. Data Interpretation:
Test yourself on actual papers: XAT 2025 QA & DI.
Part 2 of XAT is a 10-minute General Knowledge section with about 20 questions: around 8 on static GK and 12 on current affairs. GK has no negative marking and is not counted in your XAT percentile or cut-off, but XLRI uses it in its own selection process. Since there is no penalty, attempt every question.
Revise with XAT 2024 GK questions.
XAT is a 180-minute computer-based test in two parts. Part 1 has three sections in a common 170-minute window with no sectional time limits, so you can attempt sections in any order and switch between them. Part 2 is a separate 10-minute GK section.
| Section | Number of Questions (approx.) | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning (VALR) | 26 | 170 minutes (common for Part 1) |
| Decision Making (DM) | 21 | |
| Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation (QA & DI) | 28 | |
| General Knowledge (Part 2) | 20 | 10 minutes |
| Total | 95 | 180 minutes |
