CAT 2026 Admit Card: How to Download, Check and Print It

CAT 2026 admit cards can be downloaded from iimcat.ac.in from 6 to 29 November 2026. What the admit card shows, how to check it, the exam-day rules and where to get help.

CAT 2026 admit cards are live. The official media release dated 4 November 2026 says they can be downloaded only from the CAT website, with your CAT application login ID and password, between 6 and 29 November 2026. The test is on Sunday, 29 November 2026.

Below is how to get yours, what to check, and the exam-day rules from the official CAT pages. Where an older page says something different, we use the newer official notice and say so.

How to download your admit card

1. Go to https://iimcat.ac.in. It is the only official CAT 2026 website. The CAT site warns that no other website is affiliated with CAT 2026.
2. Log in with your CAT application login ID and password. If you have forgotten the password, use the forgot-password option with your user ID; the new password is sent to your registered email.
3. Open your admit card and print it. The admit card is not sent by post, so the printed copy is the one you take to the test centre.

What your admit card shows

According to the CAT FAQ, your admit card shows:

• Candidate name
• Test date
• PwD status
• Test centre details
• Examination session and time

The passport-size photograph affixed on the printed card must be the same one you uploaded at registration. The photo edit window closed on 6 October 2026, so if the photo or any detail looks wrong, do not wait. Raise a ticket in the candidate grievance portal, which sits in the registered candidate login, or call the helpline (see below).

Your session is allotted, not chosen

CAT 2026 runs in three sessions: forenoon, afternoon and evening. Per the CAT FAQ, your session is allotted based on the test city you selected at registration, and candidates cannot choose their shift. Your admit card shows the session and timing allotted to you.

Exam-day rules from the official FAQ

• Print the admit card and bring it to the test centre. It is a mandatory document.
• Follow the instructions printed on the admit card before you come to the centre.
• Rough work is allowed only on the scribble pad and pen given at your centre. Writing anywhere else, including on the admit card, is treated as using unfair means.
• The scribble pad is collected by the invigilators when the exam ends. You cannot take it home.
• The IIMs say they have added face matching and mobile jammers at select locations, as stated in the 4 November 2026 notice.

Know the format before test day

CAT 2026 is 120 minutes long, with three sections of 40 minutes each: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA). The order is fixed, and you cannot switch from one section to another while answering.

The official mock test on the CAT website is open from 6 November 2026. Take it at least once before 29 November so the screen is familiar on the day. Our CAT 2026 study plan shows where a mock fits in each week.

If something goes wrong

• Cannot see the admit card after logging in: raise a ticket in the grievance portal, then call the CAT candidate helpline on 1800 210 0175 (toll free, Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, excluding national holidays).
• Academic questions such as eligibility, category or PwBD certificate: email [email protected] or call +91 7312439402, Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, excluding holidays.
• Suspicious website, message or request for payment: the CAT help desk says to report it to [email protected] and to use only iimcat.ac.in.
