“I built ed-tech tools for years — until I realised the best tool in any classroom is still a great teacher.”
Founder: Aptitude360
After my B.Tech and MBA, I stepped into the ed-tech world — and quickly realized one truth: a great teacher can never be replaced by technology.
So I did something unusual. I joined classrooms at CL, Byju's, Chanakya IAS, and Pratham — not as a builder, but as a teacher — to truly understand what students needed.
10,000+ students later, with 1,000+ cracking CAT, UPSC, and other competitive exams, I founded Aptitude360 with one belief:

CUET UG 2027, the national-level entrance exam for admission to 280+ government and private universities across India, is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). As per NTA's past pattern, CUET UG 2027 is expected to be held in May 2027. The official notification has not been released yet and is expected in the first week of January 2027, with registration opening shortly after.
Aspirants from Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula and across Punjab are advised to track NTA's official website closely and begin preparation early, since the registration window typically stays open for only 4-5 weeks.
CUET UG 2027 at a glance (based on previous cycles):
Note: NTA has not released the official CUET UG 2027 notification yet, so the dates and details above are tentative, based on previous years' schedules, and subject to change upon official confirmation.
The General Test comprises 50 compulsory questions and evaluates a candidate's overall aptitude and reasoning ability. It is compulsory for admission to several universities and courses.
Since GAT has no fixed weightage pattern released by NTA, candidates should prepare all six areas evenly, with extra focus on Numerical and Logical Reasoning since these carry the most scoring potential under time pressure.
English is one of the most opted language papers, with over 75% of CUET candidates appearing for it. It comprises 50 questions, of which 40 must be attempted within the allotted time.
Since Reading Comprehension alone carries the highest weightage, building daily reading habits and vocabulary is more valuable than last-minute grammar cramming.
Domain subject papers are based entirely on the NCERT Class 12 syllabus for that subject — no Class 11 topics are included. Candidates can choose up to 3 domain subjects as part of their overall 5-subject limit.
Part A: Introductory Macroeconomics
Part B: Indian Economic Development
Part A: Principles and Functions of Management
Part B: Business Finance and Marketing
Part A: Accounting for Partnership Firms and Companies
Part B: Financial Statement Analysis
Note: Some universities offer Computerised Accounting as an alternative to Part B — check your target university's specific requirement.
Since all three commerce subjects are 100% NCERT-based, candidates already preparing for Class 12 boards have significant overlap — the key differentiator for CUET is practicing MCQ-format application questions rather than descriptive answers, since board exams test writing while CUET tests concept clarity under time pressure.
CUET UG is conducted entirely in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across multiple shifts and dates. Following the pattern standardised for CUET UG 2026, each subject paper — whether Language, Domain-Specific, or the General Test — is expected to follow the same uniform structure in CUET UG 2027.
Response | Marks |
|---|---|
Correct Answer | +5 marks |
Incorrect Answer | –1 mark |
Unattempted Question | No penalty |
Paper | Questions | Duration | Max Marks |
|---|---|---|---|
Language (13 options) | 50 (all compulsory) | 60 minutes | 250 |
Domain-Specific Subject (23 options) | 50 (all compulsory) | 60 minutes | 250 |
General Test (GAT) | 50 (all compulsory) | 60 minutes | 250 |
Candidates can select up to 5 subjects in total from Languages, Domain-Specific subjects, and the General Test, depending on the admission requirements of their target universities and courses. Since CUET UG 2026 removed optional/choice-based questions, all 50 questions in every paper must be attempted — a key change from earlier CUET cycles that candidates preparing for 2027 should be aware of.
PwBD candidates are provided an additional 20 minutes of compensatory time for every hour of examination, along with scribe facility where applicable.
Note: The exact CUET UG 2027 exam pattern will be confirmed only in NTA's official notification, expected in January 2027. The details above are based on the CUET UG 2026 pattern and are subject to change.
