Timed diagnostic

Before you take the assessment

This is a single timed sitting whose job is to produce an honest baseline. It is worth nothing if it is taken in pieces, so read these first.

  • It runs in full screen. The test takes over the screen when it starts, the way the real computer-based test does.
  • Leaving it is counted. Switching away is recorded and warned about; the third time, the paper is submitted for you.
  • The clock runs for 30 minutes. Set aside that long, uninterrupted. It starts when you begin, keeps running if you close the tab, and submits the paper at zero.
  • 4 timed sections. Each section has its own limit, and a section you have finished cannot be returned to.

About this test

About the SET Assessment Test

The SET Assessment Test is a free, medium-level practice test for the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) with 30 questions to be solved in 30 minutes, where each correct answer earns +1 mark and there is no negative marking. Every question is a multiple-choice question with 4 options, set at a typical real-paper level and written in English. The marking follows the SET 2026 pattern shown on the exam page of Aptitude360.

Test pattern and marking

  • General English: 8 questions, 8 minutes, +1 for a correct answer, no negative marking
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 8 questions, 8 minutes, +1 for a correct answer, no negative marking
  • General Awareness: 8 questions, 8 minutes, +1 for a correct answer, no negative marking
  • Analytical and Logical Reasoning: 6 questions, 6 minutes, +1 for a correct answer, no negative marking

On Aptitude360 each section has its own timer as a pacing aid, and the section times add up to 30 minutes; the real SET has no sectional time limit, so these section times are only a suggested pace.

Topics covered

  • General English: reading comprehension, synonyms and antonyms, fill in the blanks, error spotting, idioms and phrases, and one word substitution.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: percentage, profit, loss and discount, time and work, ratio and proportion, average, simple and compound interest, algebra and number system.
  • General Awareness: history, polity, geography, physics, static GK, sports, and art and culture.
  • Analytical and Logical Reasoning: blood relations, series, coding-decoding, syllogism, direction sense and seating arrangement.

Every question shows its question type in square brackets at the top, for example [Puzzle / Seating Arrangement], [Reading Comprehension], [Synonyms & Antonyms] and [Fill in the Blanks], so you can see which part of the real exam pattern each question follows.

Key formulas to revise

  • Percentage change: \( \dfrac{\text{New} - \text{Old}}{\text{Old}} \times 100 \)
  • Profit percentage: \( \dfrac{\text{SP} - \text{CP}}{\text{CP}} \times 100 \)
  • Simple interest: \( SI = \dfrac{P \times R \times T}{100} \)
  • Compound amount, compounded annually: \( A = P\left(1 + \dfrac{R}{100}\right)^{n} \)
  • Average: \( \dfrac{\text{Sum of values}}{\text{Number of values}} \)
  • Two workers finishing alone in \( a \) and \( b \) days take, together: \( \dfrac{ab}{a+b} \) days

Who should take this test

This test suits SET aspirants who want a quick, timed check of all four sections in a single 30-minute sitting. It is also useful for students who have finished revising topics and want to practise pacing at a medium difficulty level.

How to use the solutions

Every question in this test comes with the correct answer and a short worked solution. After submitting, review the solutions for this test question by question, note the topics where you lost marks or time, and revise those topics before your next attempt.
