Before you take the assessment

This is a single timed sitting whose job is to produce an honest baseline. It is worth nothing if it is taken in pieces, so read these first.

  • It runs in full screen. The test takes over the screen when it starts, the way the real computer-based test does.
  • Leaving it is counted. Switching away is recorded and warned about; the third time, the paper is submitted for you.
  • The clock runs for 30 minutes. Set aside that long, uninterrupted. It starts when you begin, keeps running if you close the tab, and submits the paper at zero.
  • 3 timed sections. Each section has its own limit, and a section you have finished cannot be returned to.

About this test

About the IPMAT Rohtak Assessment Test

The IPMAT Rohtak Assessment Test on Aptitude360 is a free, English-language practice test of 30 multiple-choice questions to be solved in 30 minutes. It is set at a medium level (typical real-paper level) and uses +4 for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong answer. Each question has 4 options, and every question comes with the correct answer and a short worked solution.

Test pattern and marking

  • Quantitative Ability: 10 questions, 10 minutes, +4 correct / −1 wrong
  • Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation: 10 questions, 10 minutes, +4 correct / −1 wrong
  • Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension: 10 questions, 10 minutes, +4 correct / −1 wrong

On Aptitude360 each section has its own timer (a pacing aid; the section times add up to 30 minutes); the real IPMAT Rohtak has no sectional time limit, so these section times are only a suggested pace.

Topics covered

Quantitative Ability has one question each on Percentage; Profit, Loss & Discount; Time, Speed & Distance; Time & Work; Average; Simple & Compound Interest; Algebra; Mensuration; Number System; and Probability.

Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation has three Data Interpretation questions and three Seating Arrangement questions, followed by one question each on Blood Relations, Coding-Decoding, Syllogism and Series.

Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension opens with three Reading Comprehension questions, then one question each on Synonyms & Antonyms, Fill in the Blanks, Sentence Improvement, Para Jumbles, Idioms & Phrases, One Word Substitution and Error Spotting.

Every question shows its question type in square brackets at the top, for example [Puzzle / Seating Arrangement], [Data Interpretation], [Reading Comprehension] and [Para Jumble], so you can see which part of the real exam pattern each question follows.

Key formulas to revise

  • Profit percentage: \( \dfrac{SP - CP}{CP} \times 100 \)
  • Distance: \( D = S \times T \)
  • A and B working together (a and b days alone): \( \dfrac{ab}{a+b} \) days
  • Amount, compounded annually: \( A = P\left(1 + \dfrac{r}{100}\right)^{n} \)
  • Average of n values with sum S: \( \dfrac{S}{n} \)
  • Probability, equally likely outcomes: \( P(E) = \dfrac{m}{n} \)

Who should take this test

This test suits IPMAT Rohtak aspirants who want a timed, medium-level check across all three sections in one sitting, and anyone who wants to practise handling negative marking under time pressure.

How to use the solutions

The worked solutions are for the questions in this test. After submitting, review every wrong or skipped answer, note the topic it belongs to, and compare your method with the solution. Then re-attempt the questions you got wrong without looking at the answer to confirm the concept has stuck.
