Before you take the assessment

This is a single timed sitting whose job is to produce an honest baseline. It is worth nothing if it is taken in pieces, so read these first.

  • It runs in full screen. The test takes over the screen when it starts, the way the real computer-based test does.
  • Leaving it is counted. Switching away is recorded and warned about; the third time, the paper is submitted for you.
  • The clock runs for 30 minutes. Set aside that long, uninterrupted. It starts when you begin, keeps running if you close the tab, and submits the paper at zero.
  • 3 timed sections. Each section has its own limit, and a section you have finished cannot be returned to.

About this test

About the IBPS PO Assessment Test

The IBPS PO Assessment Test on Aptitude360 is a free, medium-level practice test of 30 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 30 minutes, with +1 for a correct answer and −0.25 for a wrong answer as in the IBPS PO prelims pattern. Every question has five options, and the difficulty is set at a typical real-paper level.

Test pattern and marking

  • English Language: 10 questions, 10 minutes, +1 for a correct answer, −0.25 for a wrong answer
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 10 questions, 10 minutes, +1 for a correct answer, −0.25 for a wrong answer
  • Reasoning Ability: 10 questions, 10 minutes, +1 for a correct answer, −0.25 for a wrong answer

Each section has its own timer; the section times add up to 30 minutes.

Topics covered

English Language includes reading comprehension, error spotting, a para jumble, word usage and swap, and a cloze test with three blanks.

Quantitative Aptitude covers data interpretation, number series, quadratic equations, profit, loss and discount, time and work, and ages.

Reasoning Ability is led by puzzles, along with inequality, syllogism, blood relations, direction sense and alphanumeric series.

Every question shows its question type in square brackets at the top, for example [Cloze Test], [Puzzle / Seating Arrangement], [Reading Comprehension] and [Data Interpretation], so you can see which part of the real exam pattern each question follows.

Key formulas to revise

  • Percentage change (N = new value, O = old value): \( \dfrac{N - O}{O} \times 100 \)
  • Profit percentage: \( \dfrac{SP - CP}{CP} \times 100 \)
  • Discount percentage on marked price: \( \dfrac{MP - SP}{MP} \times 100 \)
  • Roots of \( ax^{2} + bx + c = 0 \), where a is not zero: \( x = \dfrac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^{2} - 4ac}}{2a} \)
  • Days for A and B working together, if A alone takes a days and B alone takes b days: \( \dfrac{ab}{a + b} \)

Who should take this test

This test suits IBPS PO aspirants who want a timed check of their speed and accuracy across all three prelims sections at medium difficulty. It is also useful for anyone who wants to practise working within separate sectional timers and handling negative marking.

How to use the solutions

Every question in this test comes with the correct answer and a short worked solution. After you finish, go through the solutions for this test question by question, compare your method with the worked steps, and note the topics where wrong answers cost you 0.25 marks each. Use those notes to plan your revision of weaker topics on Aptitude360.
