Timed diagnostic

Before you take the assessment

This is a single timed sitting whose job is to produce an honest baseline. It is worth nothing if it is taken in pieces, so read these first.

  • It runs in full screen. The test takes over the screen when it starts, the way the real computer-based test does.
  • Leaving it is counted. Switching away is recorded and warned about; the third time, the paper is submitted for you.
  • The clock runs for 30 minutes. Set aside that long, uninterrupted. It starts when you begin, keeps running if you close the tab, and submits the paper at zero.
  • 3 timed sections. Each section has its own limit, and a section you have finished cannot be returned to.

About this test

About the IBPS Clerk Assessment Test

The IBPS Clerk Assessment Test on Aptitude360 is a free, medium-level practice test with 30 questions to be solved in 30 minutes. It is marked +1 for a correct answer and −0.25 for a wrong answer, following the IBPS Clerk prelims pattern. Every question is a multiple-choice question with five options, and the difficulty is set at a typical real-paper level.

Test pattern and marking

  • English Language: 10 questions, 10 minutes, +1 for a correct answer, −0.25 for a wrong answer
  • Numerical Ability: 10 questions, 10 minutes, +1 for a correct answer, −0.25 for a wrong answer
  • Reasoning Ability: 10 questions, 10 minutes, +1 for a correct answer, −0.25 for a wrong answer

Each section has its own timer, and the three section times add up to 30 minutes. The test is in English.

Topics covered

English Language covers error spotting in a sentence split into bracketed parts, a five-sentence para jumble, word swap, a cloze test with three blanks, and reading comprehension based on an original passage of about 250–300 words with four questions on it.

Numerical Ability includes simplification (find the missing number), missing-term and wrong-number series, quadratic equations where you compare x and y, word problems on ages, ratio and time and work, and a data interpretation table with three questions.

Reasoning Ability has a seven-person puzzle with clear conditions and a unique solution, along with syllogism, inequality, blood relations, direction sense, and order and ranking.

Every question shows its question type in square brackets at the top, for example [Cloze Test], [Puzzle / Seating Arrangement], [Reading Comprehension] and [Data Interpretation], so you can see which part of the real exam pattern each question follows.

Key formulas to revise

  • x% of N: \( \dfrac{x \times N}{100} \)
  • Percentage by which A is less than B: \( \dfrac{B - A}{B} \times 100 \)
  • Work per day when A alone takes a days and B alone takes b days, working together: \( \dfrac{1}{a} + \dfrac{1}{b} \)
  • Roots of \( ax^{2} + bx + c = 0 \), where a is not zero: \( x = \dfrac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^{2} - 4ac}}{2a} \)
  • Sum and product of the roots: \( -\dfrac{b}{a} \) and \( \dfrac{c}{a} \)

Who should take this test

This test suits IBPS Clerk aspirants who want to check their speed and accuracy across all three prelims sections under sectional timing. It works early in preparation, to spot weak topics, and later, as a timed revision drill.

How to use the solutions

Every question in this test has the correct answer and a short worked solution. Compare your method with the worked solution, especially for questions you got wrong or left out. Note whether each mistake came from a concept gap, a calculation slip or time pressure. Because a wrong answer costs 0.25 marks, also think about whether each guess was worth the risk.
