Timed diagnostic

Before you take the assessment

This is a single timed sitting whose job is to produce an honest baseline. It is worth nothing if it is taken in pieces, so read these first.

  • It runs in full screen. The test takes over the screen when it starts, the way the real computer-based test does.
  • Leaving it is counted. Switching away is recorded and warned about; the third time, the paper is submitted for you.
  • The clock runs for 30 minutes. Set aside that long, uninterrupted. It starts when you begin, keeps running if you close the tab, and submits the paper at zero.
  • 2 timed sections. Each section has its own limit, and a section you have finished cannot be returned to.

About this test

About the CUET UG Assessment Test

The CUET UG Assessment Test on Aptitude360 is a free practice test of 30 multiple-choice questions to be solved in 30 minutes, set at medium level (typical real-paper level), with +5 marks for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong answer. Each question has four options, and the test is in English.

Test pattern and marking

  • English (Section IA): 10 questions in 10 minutes. +5 for a correct answer, −1 for a wrong answer.
  • General Test (Section III): 20 questions in 20 minutes. +5 for a correct answer, −1 for a wrong answer.

Each section has its own timer, and the section times add up to 30 minutes.

Topics covered

English (Section IA) opens with four Reading Comprehension questions. These are followed by questions on Synonyms & Antonyms, Fill in the Blanks, Para Jumbles, Idioms & Phrases and One Word Substitution.

General Test (Section III) is a single section. For convenience, its topics can be loosely grouped into general awareness (History, Polity, Geography, Chemistry, Static GK), reasoning (Analogy, Series, Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, Direction Sense, Syllogism, Seating Arrangement) and quantitative aptitude (Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, Profit, Loss & Discount, Time, Speed & Distance, Average, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Number System).

Key topics to revise

  • Simple interest: \(SI = \dfrac{P \times R \times T}{100}\).
  • Compound interest, compounded annually at R% per year: \(A = P\left(1 + \dfrac{R}{100}\right)^{T}\).
  • Profit percentage is calculated on cost price: \(\dfrac{\text{Profit}}{\text{CP}} \times 100\).
  • Speed, distance and time: \(\text{Speed} = \dfrac{\text{Distance}}{\text{Time}}\).
  • Average: \(\dfrac{\text{Sum of values}}{\text{Number of values}}\).
  • Area of a circle: \(\pi r^{2}\).

Every question shows its question type in square brackets at the top, for example [Puzzle / Seating Arrangement], [Reading Comprehension], [Para Jumble] and [Synonyms & Antonyms], so you can see which part of the real exam pattern each question follows.

Who should take this test

This test suits CUET UG aspirants who want a timed, medium-level check of their English and General Test preparation. It is useful for spotting weak topics and for practising the +5/−1 marking, where careless guesses cost marks.
