About the CMAT Assessment Test
The CMAT Assessment Test on Aptitude360 is a free, medium-level practice test with 30 multiple-choice questions to be solved in 30 minutes, marked at +4 for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong answer. Each question has four options, and the paper covers all five CMAT sections with six questions each. The test is in English.
Test pattern and marking
- Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation: 6 questions, 6 minutes, +4/−1
- Logical Reasoning: 6 questions, 6 minutes, +4/−1
- Language Comprehension: 6 questions, 6 minutes, +4/−1
- General Awareness: 6 questions, 6 minutes, +4/−1
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship: 6 questions, 6 minutes, +4/−1
On Aptitude360 each section has its own timer (a pacing aid; the section times add up to 30 minutes); the real CMAT has no sectional time limit, so these section times are only a suggested pace.
Topics covered
- Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation: two Data Interpretation questions, plus one each on Profit, Loss & Discount, Time & Work, Mixture & Alligation and Algebra.
- Logical Reasoning: one question each on Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, Seating Arrangement, Syllogism, Series and Direction Sense.
- Language Comprehension: three Reading Comprehension questions, then Synonyms & Antonyms, Fill in the Blanks and Sentence Improvement.
- General Awareness: Economy, Polity, History, Geography, Static GK and Physics.
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship: six Business and Entrepreneurship questions on entrepreneur types, startup funding and dilution, types of innovation, Lean Startup pivots, intellectual property and startup support schemes.
Every question shows its question type in square brackets at the top, for example [Puzzle / Seating Arrangement], [Reading Comprehension], [Data Interpretation] and [Business & Entrepreneurship], so you can see which part of the real exam pattern each question follows.
Key formulas to revise
- Percentage change (new value N, old value O): \( \dfrac{N - O}{O} \times 100 \)
- Profit percentage: \( \dfrac{SP - CP}{CP} \times 100 \)
- Selling price after x% discount on marked price: \( SP = MP \times \dfrac{100 - x}{100} \)
- Days taken together (A alone a days, B alone b days): \( \dfrac{ab}{a + b} \)
- Alligation, cheaper : dearer (prices c and d, mean m): \( (d - m) : (m - c) \)
- Square of a sum: \( (a + b)^{2} = a^{2} + 2ab + b^{2} \)
Who should take this test
This test suits CMAT aspirants who want a quick, full-coverage check of all five sections at a typical real-paper level, and anyone who wants to practise pacing under +4/−1 marking.
