Timed diagnostic

Before you take the assessment

This is a single timed sitting whose job is to produce an honest baseline. It is worth nothing if it is taken in pieces, so read these first.

  • It runs in full screen. The test takes over the screen when it starts, the way the real computer-based test does.
  • Leaving it is counted. Switching away is recorded and warned about; the third time, the paper is submitted for you.
  • The clock runs for 30 minutes. Set aside that long, uninterrupted. It starts when you begin, keeps running if you close the tab, and submits the paper at zero.
  • 3 timed sections. Each section has its own limit, and a section you have finished cannot be returned to.

About this test

About the SBI Clerk Assessment Test

The SBI Clerk Assessment Test on Aptitude360 is a free, medium-level practice test of 30 multiple-choice questions to be solved in 30 minutes, with +1 mark for a correct answer and −0.25 for a wrong answer. Each question has five options, and the test is in English. The marking follows the +1/−0.25 basis given in the SBI Junior Associate information handout, and the difficulty is set at a typical real-paper level.

Test pattern and marking

  • English Language: 10 questions, 10 minutes, +1 for a correct answer, −0.25 for a wrong answer
  • Numerical Ability: 10 questions, 10 minutes, +1 for a correct answer, −0.25 for a wrong answer
  • Reasoning Ability: 10 questions, 10 minutes, +1 for a correct answer, −0.25 for a wrong answer

Each section has its own timer; the section times add up to 30 minutes.

Topics covered

English Language includes a reading comprehension set of four questions, followed by error spotting, a para jumble, word usage & swap and a cloze test with three blanks.

Numerical Ability covers simplification & approximation, surds & indices, a data interpretation set of three questions, number series, quadratic equations, profit, loss & discount, and simple & compound interest.

Reasoning Ability opens with a puzzle set of five questions, then covers inequality, syllogism, alphanumeric series, coding-decoding and blood relations.

Every question shows its question type in square brackets at the top, for example [Cloze Test], [Puzzle / Seating Arrangement], [Reading Comprehension] and [Data Interpretation], so you can see which part of the real exam pattern each question follows.

Key formulas to revise

  • Simple interest: \( SI = \dfrac{P \times R \times T}{100} \)
  • Amount, compounded annually: \( A = P\left(1 + \dfrac{R}{100}\right)^{T} \)
  • Profit percentage: \( \dfrac{SP - CP}{CP} \times 100 \)
  • Discount percentage: \( \dfrac{MP - SP}{MP} \times 100 \)
  • Roots of a quadratic (where a is not zero): \( x = \dfrac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^{2} - 4ac}}{2a} \)
  • Law of indices: \( a^{m} \times a^{n} = a^{m+n} \)

Who should take this test

This test suits SBI Clerk aspirants who want a timed, section-wise check of their speed and accuracy at medium difficulty. Because each section is separately timed, it is useful for practising time management across English, quant and reasoning.

How to use the solutions

Every question in this test has the correct answer and a short worked solution. Use these solutions for this test to compare your method with the worked steps, find where marks were lost to negative marking, and note topics that need more revision on Aptitude360.
