Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 25-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 25 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

Pressure and Fluids GK Practice Quiz Level 1 on Basic Physics Concepts

Pressure and Fluids Level 1 is a beginner General Awareness physics quiz on Aptitude360 that covers thrust, pressure, buoyancy and density. It also includes basic questions on contact and non-contact forces, SI units and everyday devices such as the lactometer and hydrometer.

What this Level 1 pressure and fluids quiz covers

  • Thrust as the perpendicular force on a surface, and pressure as thrust per unit area
  • Everyday examples such as sharp knife edges, wide truck tyres and a camel's flat feet
  • Liquid pressure on container walls, atmospheric pressure and the rubber sucker
  • Buoyant force, Archimedes' principle and the Eureka story
  • Density, relative density, and why objects float or sink
  • Contact and non-contact forces such as muscular, magnetic and gravitational force

Key fluid concepts every beginner should revise

  • SI units: pascal for pressure and kilogram per cubic metre for density, while relative density has no unit
  • Upthrust acts upward and equals the weight of the fluid displaced
  • An object floats when its density is less than that of the liquid
  • Lactometers check milk purity and hydrometers measure liquid density, both based on buoyancy

Simple revision tips for pressure and buoyancy basics

  • Link each everyday example to whether it increases or reduces pressure by changing area
  • Keep a short table of quantities, SI units and measuring instruments for quick recall

Who should take this beginner physics GK set

Students starting General Science for competitive exams, or anyone revising school-level pressure and fluids before moving to harder levels.

FAQs about Pressure and Fluids – GK Quiz with Answers – Level 1

What is pressure of a fluid?
Fluid pressure is the thrust a liquid or gas exerts per unit area of a surface in contact with it. Fluids exert pressure in all directions, including on the walls of their container.
What causes pressure in fluids?
Fluid pressure comes from the weight of the fluid above a point and from its particles striking surfaces. That is why liquid pressure increases with depth.
What is the formula for pressure in physics?
Pressure equals thrust divided by the area on which it acts. Its SI unit is the pascal, which equals one newton per square metre.
What does Archimedes' principle state?
A body fully or partly immersed in a fluid experiences an upward force equal to the weight of the fluid it displaces. Ships, submarines, lactometers and hydrometers work on this principle.
