Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 30-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 30 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

Motion and Laws of Motion GK Quiz Level 2: Numericals and Applications

Motion and Laws of Motion Level 2 is an intermediate General Awareness physics quiz that checks whether you can apply the equations of motion, Newton's second law and momentum, not just define them. It mixes simple numericals with statement, match-the-list and odd-one-out questions. Every answer on Aptitude360 comes with an explanation.

Topics in this Level 2 laws of motion practice set

  • Simple numericals on final velocity, distance covered from rest, average speed and displacement along a line
  • Finding force from mass and acceleration, and momentum from mass and velocity
  • How momentum changes when mass and velocity are scaled
  • Choosing the equation of motion that links velocity and distance without time
  • Matching physical quantities with SI units and terms such as inertia, momentum and acceleration with their meanings
  • Conservation of momentum in collisions and the recoil of a gun

Key concepts to strengthen for applied questions

  • Action and reaction forces do not cancel because they act on different bodies
  • Momentum is conserved only when no external unbalanced force acts on the system
  • Uniform circular motion is accelerated because the direction of velocity keeps changing
  • Equations of motion hold only for uniform acceleration
  • Statement traps, such as calling a magnitude-only quantity a vector

How to prepare for motion numericals in GK papers

  • Write down the given values with their symbols first, then pick the equation that contains exactly those quantities
  • Check that the units are consistent before calculating force or momentum
  • For odd-one-out questions, first decide which law explains each example, then spot the misfit

Who should take this Level 2 motion quiz

This set is for SSC, railway, defence and state exam aspirants who are clear on the basic definitions of motion and want to practise applied and numerical questions.

FAQs about Motion and Laws of Motion – GK Quiz with Answers – Level 2

What are the three equations of motion?
The first gives final velocity as initial velocity plus acceleration times time. The second gives displacement as initial velocity times time plus half of acceleration times time squared. The third says final velocity squared equals initial velocity squared plus two times acceleration times displacement.
Why do action and reaction forces not cancel each other?
Action and reaction forces act on two different bodies, so they cannot cancel. Forces cancel only when they act on the same body.
What is the law of conservation of momentum?
The total momentum of a system stays constant when no external unbalanced force acts on it. The recoil of a gun on firing is a common example.
Why is uniform circular motion called accelerated motion?
In uniform circular motion the speed stays the same but the direction of motion keeps changing. Since velocity includes direction, the velocity changes, so the body is accelerating.
