Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 30-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 30 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

Light Reflection, Refraction and Lenses GK Quiz Level 2 Practice

Level 2 of the light series is for students who know the basic facts and are ready for medium-level physics GK on Aptitude360. It covers reflection, refraction, lens power, vision and dispersion through statement, match-the-list, odd-one-out and arrangement questions that test reasoning rather than plain recall.

Topics tested in this light and lenses set

  • Features of images formed by plane, concave and convex mirrors
  • Relation between radius of curvature and focal length
  • Snell's law and the cause of refraction
  • Finding lens power from focal length and its sign
  • Steps of vision, accommodation and the role of the ciliary muscles
  • Myopia, hypermetropia, presbyopia, bifocal lenses and cataract
  • Dispersion by a prism, the VIBGYOR order, rainbows and atmospheric refraction

Key optics concepts for medium-level questions

  • The focal length of a spherical mirror is half its radius of curvature
  • Violet light bends the most and red light the least in a prism
  • Planets do not twinkle because they act as extended sources of light
  • A rainbow is always seen in the direction opposite to the Sun
  • The reddish Sun at sunrise and sunset is due to scattering of light

How to prepare for light and vision questions

  • Practise converting focal length into metres before finding power, and attach the correct sign for each lens
  • Sort phenomena into reflection, refraction, dispersion and scattering, since odd-one-out questions rely on this grouping
  • Learn the order of events in vision from cornea to brain for sequence questions

FAQs about Light: Reflection, Refraction, Lenses and the Human Eye – GK Quiz with Answers – Level 2

What is accommodation of the human eye?
Accommodation is the ability of the eye lens to change its focal length so that both near and distant objects are seen clearly. The ciliary muscles do this by changing the curvature of the lens.
Why do stars twinkle but planets do not?
Stars twinkle because their light is refracted by layers of air with changing density. Planets are much closer and act as extended sources, so these variations average out.
Why is a concave mirror used as a shaving mirror?
When the face is held within the focal length of a concave mirror, it forms an enlarged, erect and virtual image, which shows fine detail.
What is presbyopia?
Presbyopia is an age-related defect in which the eye loses its power of accommodation, making near objects hard to see. It is often corrected with bifocal lenses.

100 in total. An attempt is spent the moment you begin one.

What you get when you submit

The analysis is ready the moment you submit the paper.

Score and accuracy

Marks, percentage, right, wrong and skipped, and the time you took.

Section by section

The same figures for each section, so a weak one cannot hide in an average.

The full answer key

Every question with your answer, the right one, the working, and the video where there is one.
