Real test conditions

Before you launch the test

This is the computer-based test format, not a quiz page: one clock, a question palette, and no way back once a section closes. Read these first.

  • It runs in full screen. The test takes over the screen when it starts, the way the real computer-based test does.
  • Leaving it is counted. Switching away is recorded and warned about; the third time, the paper is submitted for you.
  • The clock runs for 120 minutes. Set aside that long, uninterrupted. It starts when you begin, keeps running if you close the tab, and submits the paper at zero.
  • 4 timed sections. Each section has its own limit, and a section you have finished cannot be returned to.

About this test

About RBI Grade B Phase 1 Mock Test 6

What this mock is and why it is a little harder

Mock Test 6 is a full-length practice paper for the RBI Grade B Officer (General) Phase 1 exam. It has the same four sections and the same length as the real paper. The level is moderate-to-hard, a little above actual RBI Grade B papers, so the real exam feels manageable on the day.

What each section covers in this mock

  • General Awareness: static banking, economy and polity. This includes RBI history and organisation, monetary policy tools, banking laws, Basel norms, payment systems, public finance, the external sector, committees and schemes. There is no current affairs.
  • English Language: reading comprehension on trust in banking and on water scarcity, plus cloze test, error detection, double fillers, phrase replacement, word swap, para jumbles and vocabulary.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: data interpretation on employee data, branch deposits with CD and NPA ratios, and an accounts caselet. It also has quadratic equations, number series, quantity comparison, approximation and arithmetic word problems.
  • Reasoning Ability: circular seating, floor-based and scheduling puzzles, syllogism, inequality, coding-decoding, input-output, data sufficiency and critical reasoning.

Key formulas to revise

  • Compound interest amount, compounded annually at r% for n years: \(A = P\left(1 + \dfrac{r}{100}\right)^{n}\), and compound interest \(CI = A - P\)
  • Percentage change: \(\dfrac{New - Old}{Old} \times 100\%\)
  • Credit-deposit ratio: \(\dfrac{Advances}{Deposits} \times 100\%\)
  • Alligation: \(\dfrac{\text{Quantity of cheaper item}}{\text{Quantity of dearer item}} = \dfrac{d - m}{m - c}\). Here c is the price of the cheaper item, d is the price of the dearer item and m is the mean price.
  • Roots of \(ax^2 + bx + c = 0\), where \(a \neq 0\): \(x = \dfrac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac}}{2a}\)
  • Probability, when all outcomes are equally likely: \(P(E) = \dfrac{\text{Favourable outcomes}}{\text{Total outcomes}}\)

Who should take it and when

This mock suits RBI Grade B aspirants who have finished the syllabus once and want a tough, exam-like rehearsal. Take it in one sitting in a quiet place, ideally in the final stretch of preparation alongside previous year papers.

How to use the solutions after your attempt

Every question comes with the correct answer and a worked solution. Go through all of them, including the ones you got right, to find faster methods. Note recurring errors by section and topic, then revise those areas before your next mock.

FAQs about RBI Grade B Phase 1 Mock Test - 6

Why is this RBI Grade B mock harder than the real exam?
It is set at a moderate-to-hard level, a little above actual RBI Grade B papers. Practising against slightly tougher puzzles, data interpretation sets and banking questions builds speed and composure. The aim is to make the real exam feel more manageable when you sit for it.
Which topics does the General Awareness section cover in this mock?
It covers static banking, financial and economic awareness. This includes RBI history and organisation, monetary policy tools, banking laws, prudential norms, payment systems, financial regulators, public finance, the external sector, inflation, committees and government schemes. It does not include current affairs, so revise those separately.
How should I review an RBI Grade B mock after attempting it?
Read the worked solution for every question, not only the wrong ones. Classify your mistakes as concept gaps, calculation slips or misreading. Note which sections and topics cost you the most, revise them, and then attempt the next mock to check your improvement.
How do I use this mock along with previous year papers?
Use previous year papers to understand the real pattern and level. Use this full-length mock, which is pitched slightly harder, to stretch yourself. Alternating between the two helps you build exam temperament and spot weak topics early.
