Real test conditions

Before you launch the test

This is the computer-based test format, not a quiz page: one clock, a question palette, and no way back once a section closes. Read these first.

  • It runs in full screen. The test takes over the screen when it starts, the way the real computer-based test does.
  • Leaving it is counted. Switching away is recorded and warned about; the third time, the paper is submitted for you.
  • The clock runs for 120 minutes. Set aside that long, uninterrupted. It starts when you begin, keeps running if you close the tab, and submits the paper at zero.
  • 4 timed sections. Each section has its own limit, and a section you have finished cannot be returned to.

About this test

About RBI Grade B Phase 1 Mock Test 2

What this mock is and why it is a little harder

This is a full-length RBI Grade B Officer (General) Phase 1 mock with the same four sections and the same length as the real paper. The level is moderate-to-hard, set slightly above the actual papers so that the real exam feels manageable on the day.

What each section covers

  • General Awareness: static banking, financial and economic awareness covering RBI history and organisation, monetary policy tools, banking laws, Basel norms, payment systems, FEMA, public finance, the external sector, schemes and committees. It does not cover current affairs.
  • English Language: reading comprehension on green finance and the gig economy, cloze test, double fillers, error detection, phrase replacement, word swap, sentence connectors and para jumbles.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: banking-themed data interpretation, quadratic equations, quantity comparison, number series, approximation and arithmetic such as profit and discount, interest, mixtures and trains.
  • Reasoning Ability: box and month-city puzzles, square table seating, syllogism, coded inequality, input-output, data sufficiency and critical reasoning.

Key formulas to revise

  • Percentage change: \(\dfrac{New - Old}{Old} \times 100\%\)
  • Profit percentage: \(\dfrac{SP - CP}{CP} \times 100\%\)
  • Selling price after markup \(m\%\) and discount \(d\%\): \(SP = CP\left(1+\dfrac{m}{100}\right)\left(1-\dfrac{d}{100}\right)\)
  • Compound interest amount, compounded annually: \(A = P\left(1+\dfrac{R}{100}\right)^{T}\)
  • Roots of \(ax^2+bx+c=0\), where \(a \neq 0\): \(x = \dfrac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}\)

Who should take it and when

It suits aspirants who have finished the basic syllabus and want a realistic, demanding rehearsal. Take it in one sitting, under exam-like conditions.

How to use the solutions and analysis

Every question has the correct answer and a worked solution. Review wrong and guessed answers first, note the concept behind each error, and revise weak topics before your next mock.

FAQs about RBI Grade B Phase 1 Mock Test - 2

Why is this RBI Grade B mock harder than the real paper?
It is deliberately set at a moderate-to-hard level, a little above the actual Phase 1 papers. Practising against slightly tougher questions builds speed, accuracy and confidence, so the real exam tends to feel more manageable when you sit for it.
Which topics does the General Awareness section cover in this mock?
It focuses on static banking, financial and economic awareness: RBI history and organisation, monetary policy framework, banking laws, prudential norms and Basel, payment systems, regulators, public finance, the external sector, government schemes and committees. It does not include current affairs, so pair it with separate current affairs revision.
How should I review a mock after attempting it?
Go through every incorrect and guessed answer using the worked solutions. Identify whether the mistake came from a concept gap, a careless slip or poor question selection. Record weak topics, revise them, and track whether the same errors repeat in your next attempt.
How should I use this mock alongside previous year papers?
Use previous year papers to understand the real exam's pattern and level, then use this slightly harder mock to stretch yourself. Comparing how you perform on both helps you judge your readiness and find the sections that need more practice.
