Real test conditions

Before you launch the test

This is the computer-based test format, not a quiz page: one clock, a question palette, and no way back once a section closes. Read these first.

  • It runs in full screen. The test takes over the screen when it starts, the way the real computer-based test does.
  • Leaving it is counted. Switching away is recorded and warned about; the third time, the paper is submitted for you.
  • The clock runs for 120 minutes. Set aside that long, uninterrupted. It starts when you begin, keeps running if you close the tab, and submits the paper at zero.
  • 4 timed sections. Each section has its own limit, and a section you have finished cannot be returned to.

About this test

About RBI Grade B Phase 1 Mock Test 8

What this mock is and why it is a little harder

This is a full-length RBI Grade B Officer (General) Phase 1 mock. It has the same four sections and the same length as the real paper. The level is moderate-to-hard, set slightly above actual RBI Grade B Phase 1 papers so that the real exam feels manageable.

What each section covers in this mock

  • General Awareness: static economy and banking topics, not current affairs. It covers RBI history and organisation, banking laws, monetary policy tools, MCLR, the MPC, FEMA, payment systems, Basel norms, public finance, the external sector, committees and schemes.
  • English Language: reading comprehension on inflation expectations and small business credit, plus cloze test, double fillers, error detection, phrase replacement, word swap, sentence rearrangement, sentence connectors and vocabulary.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: data interpretation sets on company mark-up and discount, showroom sales and bank employee data. It also has approximation, missing and wrong number series, quadratic equations, quantity comparison and arithmetic word problems.
  • Reasoning Ability: linear and circular seating, ranking puzzles, syllogism, coded inequality, input-output, data sufficiency, blood relations, direction sense and critical reasoning.

Key formulas to revise

  • Percentage change: \(\dfrac{New - Old}{Old} \times 100\%\)
  • Profit percentage: \(\dfrac{SP - CP}{CP} \times 100\%\)
  • Net effect of successive discounts of a% and b%: \(\left(a + b - \dfrac{ab}{100}\right)\%\)
  • Compound interest, compounded annually at r% per annum for n years: \(CI = P\left(1 + \dfrac{r}{100}\right)^{n} - P\)
  • Probability, when all outcomes are equally likely: \(P(E) = \dfrac{\text{favourable outcomes}}{\text{total outcomes}}\)
  • Relative speed of two trains: \(u + v\) when they move in opposite directions and \(|u - v|\) when they move in the same direction

Who should take it and when

This mock suits aspirants who have finished the syllabus and want a tougher full-length run. Take it in one sitting under exam-like conditions.

How to use the worked solutions after your attempt

Every question comes with the correct answer and a worked solution. Go through every question, including the ones you got right, and compare your method with the solution. Note the concepts you got wrong and revise them before your next mock.

FAQs about RBI Grade B Phase 1 Mock Test - 8

Why is this RBI Grade B mock harder than the real paper?
Mock Test 8 is set at a moderate-to-hard level, slightly above actual RBI Grade B Phase 1 papers. If you practise against tougher questions, the real exam tends to feel more manageable on the day. It also shows you which areas need more work.
Which topics does the General Awareness section cover in this mock?
It covers static banking, financial and economic awareness. This includes RBI history and organisation, monetary policy tools, banking laws, regulators, payment and settlement systems, prudential norms, public finance, the external sector, inflation, government schemes and committees. It does not include current affairs, so follow those separately.
How should I review an RBI Grade B mock after attempting it?
Go through every question with its worked solution, not just the ones you got wrong. Check whether each mistake came from a concept gap, a misread question or a calculation slip. Note the weak topics, revise them, and then attempt the next mock to see whether you have improved.
How can I use this mock alongside previous year papers?
Use previous year papers to understand the real exam pattern and level. Then use this full-length mock, which is slightly harder, to stretch yourself. Combining both helps you get used to the actual paper while building the extra speed and accuracy needed for tougher questions.
