Real test conditions

Before you launch the test

This is the computer-based test format, not a quiz page: one clock, a question palette, and no way back once a section closes. Read these first.

  • It runs in full screen. The test takes over the screen when it starts, the way the real computer-based test does.
  • Leaving it is counted. Switching away is recorded and warned about; the third time, the paper is submitted for you.
  • The clock runs for 120 minutes. Set aside that long, uninterrupted. It starts when you begin, keeps running if you close the tab, and submits the paper at zero.
  • 4 timed sections. Each section has its own limit, and a section you have finished cannot be returned to.

About this test

About RBI Grade B Phase 1 Mock Test 5

What this mock is and why it is a little harder

This is a full-length RBI Grade B Officer (General) Phase 1 mock with the same four sections and the same length as the real paper. It is set at a moderate-to-hard level, slightly tougher than the real Phase 1 papers, so that the actual exam feels manageable on the day.

What each section covers in this mock

  • General Awareness: static banking and economy, not current affairs. It covers RBI history and organisation, monetary policy tools, banking laws, prudential norms, payment systems, public finance and committees.
  • English Language: reading comprehension on fintech lending and public debt, along with cloze test, error detection, phrase replacement, word swap, sentence rearrangement and vocabulary.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: data interpretation on Kisan Credit Card loans and on profit with mark-up and discount, plus number series, quadratic equations, quantity comparison, approximation and word problems.
  • Reasoning Ability: linear row and floor-flat puzzles, a lecture schedule, syllogism, inequality, input-output, coding-decoding, data sufficiency and critical reasoning.

Key formulas to revise

  • Percentage change: \(\dfrac{New - Old}{Old} \times 100\%\)
  • Profit percentage: \(\dfrac{SP - CP}{CP} \times 100\%\)
  • Selling price after a discount of d per cent on marked price: \(SP = MP\left(1 - \dfrac{d}{100}\right)\)
  • Compound interest amount, compounded annually: \(A = P\left(1 + \dfrac{r}{100}\right)^{n}\)
  • Boats and streams, where u is the boat's speed in still water and v is the stream's speed: downstream \(u + v\), upstream \(u - v\)
  • Probability, when all outcomes are equally likely: \(P(E) = \dfrac{\text{favourable outcomes}}{\text{total outcomes}}\)

Who should take it and when

It suits aspirants who have covered the syllabus once and want a tougher check of speed and accuracy. Attempt it in one sitting under exam-like conditions, ideally in the final stretch of preparation, alongside previous year papers.

How to use the solutions after your attempt

Every question has the correct answer and a worked solution. Review all questions, including the ones you got right. Note why each mistake happened, then revise the weak topics before your next mock.

FAQs about RBI Grade B Phase 1 Mock Test - 5

Why is this RBI Grade B mock harder than the real paper?
It is deliberately set at a moderate-to-hard level, a little harder than the real RBI Grade B Phase 1 papers. Practising at a slightly higher difficulty builds speed, accuracy and confidence, so the actual exam feels more manageable when you sit for it.
Which topics does the General Awareness section of this mock cover?
It focuses on static banking, financial and economic awareness rather than current affairs. Topics include RBI history and organisation, monetary policy tools, banking laws, prudential norms and the Basel framework, payment systems, public finance, the external sector, government schemes, regulators and committees.
How should I review an RBI Grade B mock after attempting it?
Go through every question with its worked solution, including the ones you answered correctly. Sort your mistakes into concept gaps, careless slips and guesses. Then revise the weak topics and practise similar questions before you attempt your next full-length mock.
How do I use this mock alongside previous year papers?
Use previous year papers to understand the real exam's pattern and level. Then use this mock, which is slightly harder, to stretch your preparation. Comparing your performance across both shows which sections need more work and how ready you are for the actual exam.
