Real test conditions

Before you launch the test

This is the computer-based test format, not a quiz page: one clock, a question palette, and no way back once a section closes. Read these first.

  • It runs in full screen. The test takes over the screen when it starts, the way the real computer-based test does.
  • Leaving it is counted. Switching away is recorded and warned about; the third time, the paper is submitted for you.
  • The clock runs for 120 minutes. Set aside that long, uninterrupted. It starts when you begin, keeps running if you close the tab, and submits the paper at zero.
  • 4 timed sections. Each section has its own limit, and a section you have finished cannot be returned to.

About this test

About RBI Grade B Phase 1 Mock Test 1

What this mock is and why it is a little harder

This is a full-length RBI Grade B Officer (General) Phase 1 mock. It follows the pattern and level of the real paper. The level is moderate-to-hard, a little tougher than actual RBI Grade B Phase 1 papers, so that the real exam feels manageable on the day.

What each section covers in this mock

  • General Awareness: static economy and polity. It covers RBI history and organisation, monetary policy tools, banking laws such as SARFAESI and IBC, Basel norms, payment systems, public finance, the external sector, committees and schemes. There are no current affairs.
  • English Language: reading comprehension on central bank credibility and digital financial inclusion, cloze test, error detection, phrase replacement, word swap, double fillers, para jumbles and vocabulary.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: banking-themed data interpretation, number series, quadratic equations, quantity comparison, approximation and arithmetic word problems.
  • Reasoning Ability: linear, circular and floor puzzles, syllogism, coded inequality, input-output, data sufficiency and critical reasoning.

Key formulas to revise

  • Percentage change: \(\dfrac{New - Old}{Old} \times 100\%\)
  • Compound interest amount, compounded annually: \(A = P\left(1 + \dfrac{R}{100}\right)^{T}\)
  • Simple interest: \(SI = \dfrac{P \times R \times T}{100}\)
  • Weighted average, for example a merged NPA ratio: \(\dfrac{\sum w_i x_i}{\sum w_i}\)
  • Boats and streams, where u is the speed in still water and v is the stream speed: downstream \(= u + v\), upstream \(= u - v\)
  • Probability, when outcomes are equally likely: \(P(E) = \dfrac{n(E)}{n(S)}\)

Who should take it and when

It suits RBI Grade B aspirants who have finished the basics and want a realistic, demanding test of speed and accuracy. It also works as a benchmark at the start of the mock phase.

How to use the solutions and analysis

Every question has the correct answer and a worked solution. Go through each section and study the questions you got wrong and the ones you guessed. Note the concepts behind your errors, revise those topics, and then attempt the next mock.

FAQs about RBI Grade B Phase 1 Mock Test - 1

Why is this RBI Grade B mock harder than the real paper?
It is pitched at a moderate-to-hard level, a little above actual RBI Grade B Phase 1 papers. Practising against slightly tougher puzzles, data interpretation and banking awareness questions builds speed and composure. As a result, the real exam tends to feel more manageable.
Which topics does the General Awareness section cover in this mock?
It tests static banking, financial and economic awareness. Topics include RBI history and organisation, the monetary policy framework, banking laws, regulators, Basel norms, payment systems, public finance, the external sector, schemes and committees. It does not include current affairs.
How should I review an RBI Grade B mock after attempting it?
Go through every section with the worked solutions, not only your score. Mark the questions you got wrong and the ones you guessed. Find the concept or approach that failed you. Then revise those topics before your next attempt so the same errors do not repeat.
How can I use this mock alongside previous year papers?
Use previous year papers to understand the actual pattern and level. Use this full-length mock, which is set slightly harder, to stretch your speed and accuracy. Alternating between the two helps you see real exam trends while building extra margin for the actual Phase 1 paper.
