Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 60-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 60 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

Coded Inequalities Level 3 Practice Quiz: Long Chains and Codes

Reading long inequality chains accurately and decoding unfamiliar symbol systems is the skill this Level 3 set builds. Aptitude360 frames it around multi-statement direct inequalities, worded and Greek-letter codes, and questions that need one relation to be definitely true while another is definitely false or only non-strict.

What the Level 3 inequality questions test

  • Long direct chains with several statements joined through a common element
  • Symbol codes built on characters such as hash, dollar, copyright and section signs, and shapes
  • Greek-letter codes and worded codes such as 'neither smaller than nor equal to'
  • Expressions where two relations must both be definitely true
  • Completions that make one relation true and another definitely false
  • Choosing a sign that gives greater than or equal to but not strictly greater than

Inequality rules to apply on long chains

  • Any strict sign on a same-direction path makes it strict: \( A\ge B>C\ge D \Rightarrow A>D \)
  • All non-strict signs keep it non-strict: \( A\ge B=C\ge D \Rightarrow A\ge D \)
  • A reversed sign breaks the link: \( A\ge B\le C \) gives no relation of A with C
  • Definitely false: \( A>B \) is false when \( A\le B \) is certain

Preparation tips for advanced inequality sets

  • Trace the path between the two elements of each conclusion before judging it
  • For 'definitely false' conditions, look for the opposite relation being certain, not merely the stated one failing
  • When a sign must give non-strict but not strict, check that no strict sign remains on the path

Who this set is for

Learners already comfortable with basic and medium inequality questions who want harder, multi-condition practice for reasoning sections.

FAQs about Coded and Direct Inequalities Practice Questions with Detailed Solutions – Level 3

How do you solve long inequality chains quickly?
Find the path that connects the two elements in the conclusion. If all the non-equality signs on that path face the same direction, a relation follows, because equal signs are neutral, and it is strict if at least one sign is strict.
What is the difference between greater than and greater than or equal to in inequalities?
Greater than is a strict relation that rules out equality, while greater than or equal to allows the two elements to be equal. A chain made only of non-strict and equal signs can never prove a strict relation.
What does 'definitely false' mean in inequality reasoning?
A relation is definitely false when the statements prove its opposite. If A is certainly less than or equal to B, then A greater than B is definitely false.
Does equal to change the direction of an inequality chain?
No. An equal sign links two elements without changing the direction, so the relation carries through it.
