Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 50-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 50 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

Non-Verbal Reasoning Level 2: Figure Series, Analogy and Classification

This Level 2 set on Aptitude360 mixes three non-verbal reasoning question types: figure series, figure analogies and odd-figure-out classification. Each item asks you to read a visual pattern rather than words. Every question comes with a worked solution explaining the pattern behind the answer.

What this non-verbal reasoning set tests

  • Figure series: choosing the figure that comes next in a sequence of figures
  • Figure analogy: finding the figure related to the third figure in the same way as the second is related to the first
  • Classification: picking the one figure out of four that differs from the other three

Key concepts for figure series and analogy questions

  • Reading the change between consecutive figures one element at a time
  • Identifying the relationship within a given pair of figures before looking at the options
  • Spotting the common property shared by three figures in an odd-one-out question
  • Recognising common kinds of visual change, for example rotation, movement of an element, change in shading or change in the number of elements

Preparation tips for non-verbal reasoning

  • Track one element at a time across figures instead of the whole picture.
  • In analogy questions, state the change in the first pair in words before applying it.
  • In series, check whether two separate patterns run together.
  • Eliminate options that break even one part of the pattern.

Who this level suits

It suits candidates preparing for reasoning sections of competitive exams who have completed the basics and want medium-level figure practice.

FAQs about Non-Verbal Series, Analogy and Classification Practice Questions with Detailed Solutions – Level 2

What is non-verbal analogy?
A non-verbal analogy shows a pair of figures linked by some change, for example a rotation or a change in shading. You apply the same change to a third figure to find its matching figure.
What is the difference between analogy and classification in reasoning?
Analogy asks you to find a figure related in the same way as a given pair. Classification asks you to find the one figure that does not share the common feature of the others.
How do you solve non-verbal series questions?
Observe how each element changes from one figure to the next, for example its position, orientation or shading. Extend the same change to predict the next figure.
How do you solve odd figure out questions in non-verbal reasoning?
Look for a property that three of the figures share, such as the way they are drawn, arranged or changed. The figure that lacks this shared property is the odd one out.

What you get when you submit

The analysis is ready the moment you submit the paper.

Score and accuracy

Marks, percentage, right, wrong and skipped, and the time you took.

Section by section

The same figures for each section, so a weak one cannot hide in an average.
