Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 50-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 50 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

Paper Folding, Cutting and Embedded Figures Level 2 Practice Questions

Learners past the basics of non-verbal reasoning can use this Level 2 set on paper folding and punching, embedded figures and figure completion. On Aptitude360 the questions ask you to predict an unfolded hole pattern, spot a shape hidden in a larger figure and choose the part that completes a pattern. Every question has a worked solution.

Skills tested in this Level 2 paper folding set

  • Predicting how a folded and punched square sheet looks when opened
  • Finding the option figure hidden in a larger figure without rotating it
  • Choosing the piece that fills the missing part of a pattern

Core ideas behind folding and hidden figure questions

  • Holes reflect across each fold line like a mirror image when the sheet is opened
  • A hole away from the fold line doubles on unfolding, while a punch on the fold line opens into a single hole
  • An embedded shape must match exactly in size, shape and orientation when rotation is not allowed
  • Pattern completion may rely on symmetry, continuing lines or other repeating features

How to get better at visual reasoning

  • Open the last fold first and reflect the holes at every step back
  • In embedded figures, start from a distinctive corner or angle of the option shape
  • For figure completion, check symmetry and line continuity before picking an option

Who should take this set

Reasoning learners who have finished the introductory level and want harder visual questions before moving on.

FAQs about Paper Folding, Cutting and Embedded Figures Practice Questions with Detailed Solutions – Level 2

How to solve paper folding and punching questions?
Unfold the sheet in reverse order and reflect each hole across every fold line. Holes away from a fold line double when it opens, while a punch on the fold line opens into one hole.
What are embedded figures in reasoning?
In embedded figure questions, a simple shape is hidden inside a more complex figure. You pick the option that appears exactly as part of that figure.
Is rotation allowed in embedded figure questions?
When a question says rotation is not allowed, the hidden shape must appear in the same orientation as the option. A turned or flipped version does not count.
How to solve figure completion questions?
Study the complete parts of the pattern for symmetry, continuing lines or repeating features. Then pick the option that fits all of them in the missing part.

What you get when you submit

The analysis is ready the moment you submit the paper.

Score and accuracy

Marks, percentage, right, wrong and skipped, and the time you took.

Section by section

The same figures for each section, so a weak one cannot hide in an average.
