Timed diagnostic

Before you take the assessment

This is a single timed sitting whose job is to produce an honest baseline. It is worth nothing if it is taken in pieces, so read these first.

  • It runs in full screen. The test takes over the screen when it starts, the way the real computer-based test does.
  • Leaving it is counted. Switching away is recorded and warned about; the third time, the paper is submitted for you.
  • The clock runs for 30 minutes. Set aside that long, uninterrupted. It starts when you begin, keeps running if you close the tab, and submits the paper at zero.
  • 4 timed sections. Each section has its own limit, and a section you have finished cannot be returned to.

About this test

About the SSC GD Constable Assessment Test

The SSC GD Constable Assessment Test on Aptitude360 is a free, medium-level practice test of 30 multiple-choice questions to be answered in 30 minutes, marked at +2 for a correct answer and −0.25 for a wrong answer. This marking follows the SSC GD Constable 2025 notice. Each question has 4 options, the test is in English, and the difficulty is set at a typical real-paper level.

Test pattern and marking

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning: 8 questions, 8 minutes, +2 for a correct answer and −0.25 for a wrong answer
  • General Knowledge and General Awareness: 7 questions, 7 minutes, +2 for a correct answer and −0.25 for a wrong answer
  • Elementary Mathematics: 8 questions, 8 minutes, +2 for a correct answer and −0.25 for a wrong answer
  • English Language: 7 questions, 7 minutes, +2 for a correct answer and −0.25 for a wrong answer

Each section has its own timer, and the section times add up to 30 minutes.

Topics covered

Reasoning includes coding-decoding, blood relations, direction sense, order and ranking, syllogism, mathematical operations, Venn diagrams and an alphabet and word test. General Awareness covers economy, physics, chemistry, biology, art and culture, static GK and history. Elementary Mathematics has ratio and proportion, average, simple and compound interest, time and work, time, speed and distance, simplification and approximation, mensuration, and HCF and LCM. English tests error spotting, spelling, active and passive voice and a para jumble, plus a cloze test (a passage with three blanks).

Every question shows its question type in square brackets at the top, for example [Cloze Test], [Para Jumble], [Coding-Decoding] and [Blood Relations], so you can see which part of the real exam pattern each question follows.

Key formulas to revise

  • Average: \( \text{Average} = \dfrac{\text{Sum}}{\text{Count}} \)
  • Simple interest: \( SI = \dfrac{P \times R \times T}{100} \)
  • Compound amount, compounded annually: \( A = P\left(1 + \dfrac{R}{100}\right)^{T} \)
  • Distance: \( D = S \times T \)
  • Time together, if A alone takes a days and B alone takes b days: \( \dfrac{ab}{a+b} \)
  • For two positive integers a and b: \( \text{HCF} \times \text{LCM} = a \times b \)

Who should take this test

This test suits SSC GD Constable aspirants who want a short, timed check across all four sections. It also helps you practise pacing across sections, and to judge when guessing is worth the −0.25 penalty. The real SSC GD CBE has a single 60-minute timer; the section times here are a suggested pace.

How to use the solutions

Every question in this test has the correct answer and a short worked solution. For any question you got wrong or left out, compare your method with the worked solution and find the exact step where you went off track. Then list the topics where you made mistakes and revise them, starting with the formulas above. Aptitude360 offers this test free, so you can use it whenever you want a quick, exam-style practice session.
