Ratio & Proportion Level - 2

The Ratio & Proportion Level 2 Assessment is a 50-question advanced module that transitions from simple comparisons to complex algebraic and commercial applications. This test is designed to evaluate a candidate’s ability to handle multi-layered ratios, partnership distributions, and "mixture-replacement" scenarios that are common in high-level competitive exams like CAT, GMAT, and Bank PO Mains.

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 60 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

While Level 1 focuses on basic scaling, Level 2 requires the ability to manipulate ratios as parts of a dynamic system. It emphasizes the "Constant Value" method and the use of proportionality constants to solve intricate word problems.

  • Syllabus & Core Question Types:

    • Income, Expenditure & Savings: Complex problems where ratios of income and expenditure are given for multiple individuals, requiring the calculation of individual savings (e.g., Income - Expenditure = Savings).

    • Coins and Currency: Problems involving the ratio of the number of coins and their total value (e.g., a bag containing 50p, 25p, and 10p coins in a specific ratio with a fixed total value).

    • Partnership & Profit Sharing: Calculating the division of profits based on the ratio of (Investment * Time).

    • Mixture and Alligation: Advanced problems where two mixtures with different ratios are blended to form a third, or where a portion of a mixture is replaced by a pure component.

    • Direct and Inverse Variation: Problems involving the square or square root of variables (e.g., "The price of a diamond varies as the square of its weight").

  • Exam Pattern & Marking:

    • Total Questions: 50.

    • Ideal Duration: 60 Minutes.

    • Scoring: +1 for correct, -0.25 for incorrect.

    • Mathematical Tooling: Success in this module depends on the mastery of the formula: If a:b = c:d, then ad = bc (Product of Extremes = Product of Means).
