Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 35-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 35 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

Population and Census GK Level 3: India's Demography Practice Quiz

Population and Census Level 3 is a hard-level general awareness quiz on India's population geography and census facts. It covers census history, density, sex ratio, literacy, age composition and occupational structure, mostly through statement, match-the-list and chronology questions. Aptitude360 gives an explanation for every answer.

Topics covered in this Population and Census set

  • Chronology of the first census, the first complete census, the Family Planning Programme and the National Population Policy
  • National population density and sex ratio figures from the most recent census
  • State features such as most populous, least populous, largest by area and lowest density
  • Kerala's high sex ratio and its population density
  • Age groups: children, adolescents, adults and the aged
  • The census definition of a literate person and occupational sectors

Key population concepts to revise

  • Births, deaths and migration as the three processes of population change
  • How the dependency ratio rises with more children and aged people
  • Why the adolescent group overlaps the children and adults groups
  • Classifying fishing, mining, construction, trade and transport into primary, secondary or tertiary activities

Revision tips for census GK questions

  • Make a single timeline of census and policy events to answer ordering questions quickly
  • Learn state records in pairs, such as highest and lowest density, to handle match-the-list items
  • Memorise the exact age limits of each group, since options often shift them by a year

Who this level suits

Students who have completed the earlier levels of this topic and want tougher statement-based practice for the geography portion of general awareness papers.

FAQs about Population and Census – GK Quiz with Answers – Level 3

What is population and population census?
Population is the total number of people living in an area. A population census is the official enumeration of that population, carried out by the government at regular intervals.
What is sex ratio in census data?
Sex ratio is the number of females per thousand males in a population. Kerala has the highest sex ratio among Indian states, above one thousand.
What is the dependency ratio in population studies?
The dependency ratio compares the dependent population, children and the aged, with the working-age adult population. A larger adult share lowers the ratio.
