Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 60-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 60 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

Partnership Practice Questions Level 2 on Capital and Time Ratios

This Level 2 partnership set builds the skill of dividing profit in the ratio of capital multiplied by time. It covers partners joining late or leaving early, capital added or withdrawn midway, working partner salaries and finding an unknown investment or period. Aptitude360 includes a worked solution for every question.

Partnership topics in this Level 2 set

  • Profit sharing when capitals and periods differ
  • Partners who join after some months or leave before the year ends
  • Capital added or withdrawn partway through the year
  • Working partner paid a monthly salary or a share of profit before division
  • Finding an unknown investment from a partner's share
  • Finding the joining month or investment period from capital and profit ratios

Key partnership formulas

  • Profit ratio: \( P_{1}:P_{2}=C_{1}T_{1}:C_{2}T_{2} \)
  • Partner's share: \( \text{Share}=\dfrac{C_{1}T_{1}}{C_{1}T_{1}+C_{2}T_{2}}\times P \)
  • Period ratio: \( \dfrac{T_{1}}{T_{2}}=\dfrac{P_{1}}{P_{2}}\times\dfrac{C_{2}}{C_{1}} \)
  • Changed capital: \( \text{Total capital-time}=C_{a}t_{a}+C_{b}t_{b} \)
  • After salary: \( \text{Divisible profit}=P-\text{Salary} \)

Revision tips for partnership problems

  • Convert every investment into capital multiplied by months before forming the ratio
  • Split the year into periods whenever capital changes and add the products
  • Deduct the working partner's salary or commission first, then divide the rest
  • Cancel common factors in capital-time products to keep ratios small

Who should practise this partnership set

It suits arithmetic learners who know the basic profit ratio and are ready for intermediate problems with changing capital and working partners.

FAQs about Partnership Practice Questions with Detailed Solutions – Level 2

What is partnership in quantitative aptitude?
Partnership problems deal with two or more people investing in a business and sharing its profit or loss. Each share depends on the capital invested and the period it was invested for.
What is the difference between simple and compound partnership?
In a simple partnership all capitals are invested for the same period, so profit is shared in the ratio of capitals. In a compound partnership the periods differ, so profit is shared in the ratio of capital multiplied by time.
How is profit divided when a partner joins later?
Multiply each partner's capital by the number of months it stayed in the business. Profit is then divided in the ratio of these products.
How is a working partner's salary handled in partnership questions?
The salary or commission is first taken out of the total profit. The remaining profit is then divided among all partners in their capital-time ratio.
