Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 35-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 35 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

Indian Polity Level 3 Practice Quiz: Union, Territory and Citizenship Articles

This Level 3 Indian Polity quiz covers the opening provisions of the Constitution: India as a Union of States, Parliament's power to form or alter States, the linguistic reorganisation after Independence and the citizenship articles. Aptitude360 explains every answer, which helps with the statement, matching and chronology formats used here.

Provisions tested in this Union and Citizenship set

  • Union and its territory: India as a Union of States, the components of Indian territory, admission of new States
  • Forming new States: the President's recommendation, referral of the Bill to the State legislature, why the State's views are not binding
  • Constitutional effect: alteration of the First Schedule, and why such a law is not treated as a constitutional amendment
  • Reorganisation history: Potti Sriramulu's fast, the Andhra State, the States Reorganisation Commission and Act, Gujarat and Maharashtra, Punjab and Haryana
  • Citizenship: citizens at the commencement, migrants to and from Pakistan, persons of Indian origin abroad, voluntary foreign citizenship, Parliament's power over citizenship

Core citizenship concepts to revise

  • Domicile combined with birth, a parent's birth or ordinary residence in India
  • Registration of persons of Indian origin abroad with India's diplomatic or consular representative
  • National citizenship only, with no separate State citizenship

How to revise State reorganisation and citizenship

  • Put every reorganisation event on one timeline to make chronology questions easy.
  • Link each citizenship article to the kind of person it covers, since harder questions describe a case.
  • Separate the mandatory steps in forming a State from the consultative ones.

Who this Level 3 polity quiz suits

General awareness aspirants who already know these provisions and want harder, case-based practice.

FAQs about Union and its Territory; Citizenship – GK Quiz with Answers – Level 3

What is union and its territory in the Indian Constitution?
It is the first Part of the Constitution, which declares India, that is Bharat, a Union of States. It also defines India's territory and gives Parliament the power to admit, form or alter States.
Why is India called a Union of States?
Dr B R Ambedkar explained that the Indian federation is not the result of an agreement among States. For that reason, no State has the right to secede from it.
Can Parliament change the boundaries of a State?
Yes. Parliament can form new States or change a State's area, boundary or name by ordinary law. The Bill needs the President's recommendation, and the affected State's views are sought but are not binding.
Does India have dual citizenship?
No. India provides for single citizenship. Indian citizens have national citizenship, not separate State citizenship.
