Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 50-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 50 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

Paper Folding and Embedded Figures Practice Quiz: Level 1 Basics

This Level 1 set is for beginners starting non-verbal reasoning. It covers paper folding and punching, embedded or hidden figures, and figure completion. Aptitude360 provides a worked solution for every question, showing how the correct figure is reached.

Question types in this paper folding and embedded figures set

  • A square sheet folded along dotted lines, punched, then unfolded to show the final hole pattern
  • Finding an option figure hidden inside a larger figure
  • Embedded figure questions where rotating the option figure is not allowed
  • Completing a figure by choosing its missing part

Key concepts for folding, cutting and hidden figures

  • A hole punched through folded layers appears on every layer it passes through
  • Unfolded holes are mirror images of each other across the fold line
  • Unfold in the reverse order of the folds
  • When rotation is not allowed, an embedded shape must match in size, angles and orientation

Practice tips for paper folding questions

  • Sketch each unfold on rough paper instead of picturing all the folds at once
  • In hidden figure questions, trace the outline of the option shape inside the main figure line by line
  • For a missing part, check how lines and shapes continue across the gap, including any symmetry where it applies

FAQs about Paper Folding, Cutting and Embedded Figures Practice Questions with Detailed Solutions – Level 1

How do you solve paper folding and punching questions?
Unfold the paper one step at a time in reverse order of folding. At each step, every hole is mirrored across the fold line, so the number of holes doubles with each unfolding unless a hole lies on the fold line.
Is rotation allowed in embedded figure questions?
Only if the question permits it. When a question says rotation is not allowed, the hidden shape must appear in the larger figure in the same orientation as the option, and the sampled embedded figure question in this set carries that instruction.
What is figure completion in reasoning?
Figure completion questions show a pattern with one part missing. You choose the option that completes it, usually by keeping the symmetry or the lines of the figure continuous.
How many questions are in the Aptitude360 paper folding Level 1 quiz?
It has 50 multiple-choice questions with a 50-minute limit. Each correct answer earns +1 and each wrong answer costs 0.25 marks.
