Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 180-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 180 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

What this tells you: course of action

Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation

  • First priority: Charts & Graphs, Tables, Coordinate Geometry and Factors & Divisibility, roughly 37% of the questions between them.
  • Keep in rotation: Quadratic Equations, Quadrilaterals & Polygons and Triangles, a steady 22% that rewards regular practice once the first group feels comfortable.
  • Leave for last: 11 topics appear only once, about 41% in total. Revise them from short notes after the topics above are solid.
  • Splitting your study time: out of every 10 study sessions on this section, about 4 for the first group, 2 for the keep-in-rotation group and 4 for the leave-for-last group.

BDM

  • Start with Managerial Caselets: about 81% of the questions, so every hour here pays back the most.
  • Keep in rotation: Ethical Dilemmas, a steady 19% that rewards regular practice once the first group feels comfortable.
  • Splitting your study time: out of every 10 study sessions on this section, about 8 for the first group and 2 for the keep-in-rotation group.

General Knowledge

  • Begin with Economy, Art & Culture, History and Environment. These carry about 57% of the questions, which makes them the best place for your first study sessions.
  • Keep in rotation: Geography, Polity and Sports, a steady 26% that rewards regular practice once the first group feels comfortable.
  • Leave for last: 4 topics appear only once, about 17% in total. Revise them from short notes after the topics above are solid.
  • Splitting your study time: out of every 10 study sessions on this section, about 6 for the first group, 2 for the keep-in-rotation group and 2 for the leave-for-last group.

Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning

  • First priority: Reading Comprehension, about 62% of the questions.
  • Keep in rotation: Critical Reasoning, Fill in the Blanks and Para Jumbles, a steady 31% that rewards regular practice once the first group feels comfortable.
  • Save for the end: 2 one-question topics (8% together). Skim them last rather than building long study blocks around them.
  • Splitting your study time: out of every 10 study sessions on this section, about 6 for the first group, 3 for the keep-in-rotation group and 1 for the leave-for-last group.
