Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 30-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 30 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

Union, Territory and Citizenship Level 2 Polity Quiz with Statement Questions

Statement-based, match-the-list, chronology and odd-one-out questions make up this Level 2 Indian Polity quiz on the Union and its Territory and Citizenship. It goes deeper into the procedure for reorganisation Bills, the order of State formation events and the conditions for citizenship at the commencement. Aptitude360 gives an explanation for every question.

What this Level 2 Union and Citizenship set tests

  • Statements on the procedure for a Bill to form a new State or change a State's name
  • Why reorganisation laws fall outside the formal amendment procedure
  • Chronological order of the Andhra announcement, the Reorganisation Commission and later State formations
  • Matching citizenship Articles with their subjects
  • Conditions for citizenship of persons with domicile in India at the commencement
  • Migrants from Pakistan, migrants to Pakistan and registration of persons of Indian origin abroad
  • Continuance of citizenship and Parliament's role in regulating it
  • Odd-one-out sets on modes of acquiring citizenship

Key concepts behind the harder statement questions

  • The State legislature's views on a reorganisation Bill are not binding on Parliament
  • The meaning of 'Union of States' and why States cannot secede
  • Effect of carving a new State on the citizenship of its people
  • The difference between the 'territory of India' and the 'Union of India'

Preparation tips for chronology and matching questions

  • Memorise the order of key reorganisation events rather than isolated facts
  • For statement questions, check each statement separately before choosing a combination
  • Link each citizenship Article with the group of people it covers to handle matching lists

Who this quiz suits

Polity learners who have finished the basics and want practice with the multi-statement and matching formats common in competitive General Awareness papers.

FAQs about Union and its Territory; Citizenship – GK Quiz with Answers – Level 2

Is forming a new state a constitutional amendment?
No. Laws that form new States or alter their areas, boundaries or names are not treated as amendments under the formal amending procedure and can be passed by a simple majority.
Can Parliament change state boundaries without the state's consent?
Yes. The President must refer the Bill to the State legislature for its views, but Parliament is not bound by those views.
What are the ways of acquiring Indian citizenship?
Under the Citizenship Act, citizenship can be acquired by birth, descent, registration, naturalisation and incorporation of territory.
Why is India called a Union of States?
Dr B.R. Ambedkar explained that the Indian federation is not the result of an agreement among States, so no State has the right to secede from it.
