Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 30-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 30 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

Revolutionaries and Ghadar Party GK Quiz Level 2: Home Rule Practice

Level 2 of this Modern Indian History set combines three linked strands: early revolutionary activity, the Ghadar movement in North America and the Home Rule Leagues. Questions move from the Chapekar brothers and the Muzaffarpur bomb to Lala Har Dayal and the Komagata Maru. Aptitude360 gives an explanation with every answer.

What this revolutionary movement set asks about

  • Why a section of youth turned to individual heroic action after the Swadeshi movement was repressed
  • The Chapekar brothers of Poona and the Muzaffarpur bomb meant for Kingsford, thrown by Khudiram Bose and Prafulla Chaki
  • Secret societies such as Anushilan, Jugantar, Mitramela and Abhinav Bharat, and revolutionary centres in Europe
  • The Hindi Association at Portland, its renaming as the Hindustan Ghadar Party and the paper Ghadar
  • Gurdit Singh's Komagata Maru voyage and the grievances of Indians in North America
  • Tilak's and Annie Besant's Home Rule Leagues, their areas of work and new members such as Jawaharlal Nehru

Core facts worth revising for this period

  • Leadership of the Ghadar Party, with Sohan Singh Bhakna as President and Lala Har Dayal as General Secretary
  • Har Dayal's lecturing at Stanford University before he led Indians in North America
  • Rashbehari Bose as the planner of the attack on Viceroy Lord Hardinge in Delhi
  • The outbreak of the First World War just before Ghadar revolutionaries began returning to India

Study tips for revolutionaries and Home Rule

  • Make a table of person, organisation and region, since odd-one-out and matching questions draw on it
  • Keep the Ghadar story in order: Har Dayal's arrival, the Portland association, Komagata Maru and the return to India
  • Compare Tilak's League and Besant's League side by side for launch, area and supporters
