Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 50-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 50 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

Prepositions Level 2 Practice Questions on Fixed Pairs and Error Spotting

Prepositions Level 2 is an English grammar set on fixed verb and preposition pairs and on prepositions that do not belong after certain verbs. It covers charged with, comply with, consist of, comprise, and since with a starting year. Aptitude360 provides it free, with a worked solution showing why the correct preposition fits.

Preposition areas in this Level 2 set

  • Correct pairings such as charged with and comply with
  • Consist of compared with comprise, which needs no of
  • Verbs that take a direct object, such as resemble, investigate and emphasise
  • Since with a starting year in perfect continuous sentences
  • Spotting a superfluous preposition in segment-based error questions

Concepts to revise for preposition error spotting

  • Comprise and consist of share a meaning but follow different patterns
  • Charged with is used for an offence, not charged of
  • Resemble and investigate are followed directly by their object

Preparation tips for Level 2 preposition questions

  • When a segment has a preposition right after a verb, check whether that verb takes a direct object
  • Revise confusing words in pairs, for example comprise against consist of
  • Read the whole sentence before choosing, because the words after the gap often decide the preposition

Who should practise this level

Learners comfortable with basic prepositions who now want error spotting and sentence improvement practice at the next level.

FAQs about Prepositions Practice Questions with Detailed Solutions – Level 2

Is it comprise of or consist of?
The standard forms are 'comprises five members' and 'consists of five members'. Comprise does not take of in standard usage.
Is it charged with or charged of?
A person is charged with an offence, as in 'charged with forgery'. Charged of is incorrect.
Is it comply with or comply to?
The correct form is comply with, as in 'comply with the rules'. Comply to is not standard usage.
Can we say resemble with?
No. Resemble takes a direct object, so the correct form is 'He resembles his grandfather', without with.
