Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 35-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 35 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

Post-Mauryan India Level 3 GK Practice Quiz: Kushanas, Shakas, Satavahanas

A student who already knows the main post-Mauryan dynasties can use this Level 3 GK quiz to test finer recall through statement, matching and sequencing questions. It covers the Shungas, Kanvas, Indo-Greeks, Shakas, Pahlavas, Kushanas and Satavahanas. Every question on Aptitude360 is followed by an explanation that clears up the tricky distinctions.

What this advanced post-Mauryan quiz checks

  • Patanjali's Mahabhashya and Pushyamitra's Ashvamedha sacrifices in the Shunga age
  • Menander as Milinda in the Milinda-panha and Heliodorus as an Indo-Greek envoy at Vidisha
  • Pahlavas as Parthians from Iran and the Western Shaka centres of Ujjayini and Junagadh
  • Kushana titles such as devaputra, Vima Kadphises and the scholars Ashvaghosha and Charaka
  • Karle chaitya hall, Amaravati and Buddhist caves of the Western Ghats
  • Silk Route and sea trade growth after the Mauryas

Key concepts that separate a correct answer from a near miss

  • Heliodorus was an ambassador, not a king, and his pillar honours Vasudeva
  • The Junagadh rock carries both Ashoka's edicts and Rudradaman's Sanskrit record
  • Gandhara Buddha images show wavy hair and Greek-style robes, unlike Mathura images
  • The Shungas, Kanvas and Satavahanas were Indian dynasties, while the others came from outside

How to prepare for hard history statement questions

  • Read every statement for a swapped name, place or language before accepting it as true
  • Revise authors with their works, such as Ashvaghosha with the Buddhacharita
  • Practise arranging events from Brihadratha's death to the end of Shaka rule

Who this Level 3 set suits

Aspirants preparing general studies for competitive exams who have finished the easier levels and want tougher practice on Ancient Indian History.
