Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 30-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 30 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

Plant Physiology GK Quiz Level 2: Transpiration, Hormones and Tropisms MCQs

This Level 2 quiz tests photosynthesis steps, transpiration pull and root pressure, translocation, meristems and the effects of plant hormones. It moves past recall into matching, sequencing and odd-one-out questions on plant functions. Aptitude360 explains every answer, so you can trace each process step by step.

Topics tested in this medium-level plant physiology set

  • Order of events in photosynthesis and the raw materials a plant takes in
  • Stomata and the pair of guard cells that control each pore
  • Transpiration pull by day and root pressure at night, and the path water takes through a plant
  • Translocation of food through phloem and the role of root hairs
  • Apical, lateral and intercalary meristems, cambium and parenchyma
  • Auxin, gibberellin, cytokinin and abscisic acid matched with their effects

Key concepts for plant transport and growth

  • How auxin made at the shoot tip makes cells on the shaded side grow longer, bending the shoot towards light
  • Growth responses such as shoot bending are hormone-mediated, while Mimosa leaves fold through quick changes in cell turgor
  • Distinguishing transpiration, translocation, photosynthesis and respiration
  • Plants have no nerves or muscles, yet still respond to light, gravity, water, chemicals and touch

How to revise plant physiology for GK

  • Write the sequence of phototropism and water movement as numbered steps
  • Watch for swapped functions in statements, such as xylem described as carrying food
  • Revise hormone pairs that contrast, like cytokinin for cell division and abscisic acid for growth inhibition

Who this Level 2 quiz is for

General Awareness learners who have covered plant physiology basics and want medium-difficulty practice before the hardest level.

FAQs about Plant Physiology – GK Quiz with Answers – Level 2

What is translocation in plants?
Translocation is the movement of food made in photosynthesis through the phloem to other parts of the plant.
What is the difference between transpiration pull and root pressure?
Transpiration pull, caused by water loss from leaves, is the main force moving water up the xylem during the day. Root pressure plays a bigger role at night.
What does auxin do in plants?
Auxin is made at the shoot tip and helps cells grow longer. It causes shoots to bend towards light.
Which meristem increases the girth of a plant?
The lateral meristem, also called cambium, increases the girth of stems and roots.
