Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 25-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 25 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

Nervous and Endocrine Systems GK Practice Quiz Level 1 for Beginners

Use this beginner quiz to check your basic understanding of how the human body is controlled by nerves and hormones. This Level 1 Aptitude360 set covers neurons, synapses, reflex arcs, the main parts of the brain and key endocrine glands. The direct, one-line questions help you confirm core facts before you move on to harder statement-based sets.

What this nervous system and hormones quiz covers

  • Structure of a neuron and the path of an impulse from dendrite to axon
  • The synapse and the chemicals released at the end of an axon
  • Reflex arcs in the spinal cord and everyday reflex actions
  • Roles of the fore-brain, medulla and cerebellum, and how the brain and spinal cord are protected
  • Adrenaline, thyroxin, growth hormone, insulin and the sex hormones
  • Hypothalamus releasing factors and feedback control of hormone release

Basic concepts to learn for control and coordination

  • Why a nerve impulse moves in only one direction across a synapse
  • How hormones travel through the blood, unlike nerve signals
  • Links between deficiencies and disorders, such as iodine and goitre or growth hormone and dwarfism

Study tips for nervous and endocrine basics

  • Make a single gland, hormone and function table and revise it aloud
  • Label a brain diagram and write one action that each part controls

Who this Level 1 quiz is for

It suits students starting General Awareness biology who want to build a clear base in control and coordination before moving to higher levels.

FAQs about Nervous and Endocrine Systems – GK Quiz with Answers – Level 1

What is the difference between the nervous and endocrine systems?
The nervous system sends fast electrical and chemical signals through neurons. The endocrine system releases hormones into the blood, and these act more slowly but usually have longer-lasting effects.
How do the nervous and endocrine systems work together?
The hypothalamus in the brain sends releasing factors to the pituitary gland, which then controls other glands. In this way, nervous signals regulate how hormones are released.
What is the basic unit of the nervous system?
The neuron, or nerve cell, is the basic unit of the nervous system. It receives information through its dendrites and passes the impulse along its axon.
Which disease is caused by lack of insulin?
Diabetes occurs when the pancreas does not secrete enough insulin. Without enough insulin, the blood sugar level rises.
