Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 35-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 35 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

Mahajanapadas and Magadha Level 3 GK Quiz: Capitals, Ganas and Alexander

This Level 3 quiz tests the finer details of the mahajanapadas and the rise of Magadha, from lesser-known capitals such as Ahichchhatra and Shravasti to Vassakara's mission to the Buddha. Questions are mostly match-the-list, chronology and multi-statement items on taxes, farming, armies, Vajji assemblies and Alexander's campaign. Aptitude360 gives a solution with every question.

What this advanced Mahajanapadas quiz covers

  • Capitals of Vatsa, Avanti, Gandhara, Koshala, Kuru, Panchala, Shurasena, Kashi and Magadha
  • Terms and people: kammakaras, gana, bhaga, Rajagaha, Vassakara and the Digha Nikaya
  • Sequence of events from janapadas to the Gupta conquest of the last ganas
  • Rajagaha among hills, the shift to Pataliputra and the Kaushambi fortification
  • Membership of Vajji assemblies and the practices the Buddha linked to Vajji prosperity
  • Iron ploughshares, transplanting paddy, salaried soldiers and Alexander's halt at the Beas

Key concepts students often mix up

  • Rajagaha was a fortified settlement among hills, not on an open plain
  • Women, dasas and kammakaras were kept out of gana assemblies
  • Transplanting paddy meant growing saplings first and then planting them, not scattering seed
  • Vaishali was the Vajji capital, Taxila the capital of Gandhara and Ujjayini the capital of Avanti

How to revise this chapter's facts

  • Make a two-column table of every mahajanapada and its capital and revise it region by region
  • Write a one-line role against each person and place, such as Mahapadma Nanda and the north-west, or Kaushambi near Allahabad
  • Note the reason behind each farming change, such as iron ploughshares turning heavy clayey soil

Who this Level 3 set is for

It is meant for General Awareness learners who have finished the earlier levels of this Ancient Indian History chapter and want detailed, list-based revision.
