Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 50-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 50 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

JIPMAT 2021 Quantitative Aptitude PYQ Practice, Fully Solved

This set builds arithmetic speed and accuracy using the Quantitative Aptitude section of the JIPMAT 2021 paper. It covers time and work, boats and streams, percentages, mixtures, partnership, mensuration, coordinate geometry and trigonometry through previous-year questions. Aptitude360 gives a worked solution for every one of them.

Topics covered in the JIPMAT 2021 QA section

  • Mensuration of a conical tent, rhombus perimeter from its diagonals, tangents to concentric circles
  • Clock-hand angles, odd term in a number series, HCF of fractions, unit digit of powers
  • Averages, partnership with a working partner, division of money in given ratios
  • Time and work, tank filling and emptying with a pump, men and women finishing a job together
  • Boats and streams, trains crossing a bridge, races and a toy train speed problem
  • Percentages, a dishonest dealer's false weight, mixtures, compound versus simple interest
  • Surd simplification, difference of squares, arithmetic progressions, collinear points, minimum value of a trigonometric expression

Key formulas for JIPMAT quant revision

  • Clock hands, initial separation: \( \theta=\left|30H-\dfrac{11}{2}M\right| \)
  • Smaller angle when \( \theta>180^{\circ} \): \( 360^{\circ}-\theta \)
  • Rhombus side: \( a=\dfrac{1}{2}\sqrt{d_{1}^{2}+d_{2}^{2}} \)
  • Difference of squares: \( a^{2}-b^{2}=(a+b)(a-b) \)
  • Compound amount: \( A=P\left(1+\dfrac{r}{100}\right)^{n} \)
  • Boat speed in still water (D downstream, U upstream): \( b=\dfrac{D+U}{2} \)

Revision tips for JIPMAT 2021 quantitative aptitude

  • Rationalise surds early, since alternating sums often cancel term by term
  • Find unit digits through the repeating cycle of the last digit of powers
  • In work problems, convert men and women into a common unit of work per day
  • Use the difference of squares to avoid long multiplication with decimals

Who should practise these JIPMAT QA questions

JIPMAT and IPM aspirants who have revised arithmetic and basic geometry and now want exam-level quant practice.

FAQs about JIPMAT 2021 Quantitative Aptitude PYQs

How to find the side of a rhombus from its diagonals?
The diagonals of a rhombus bisect each other at right angles. Each side is the hypotenuse of a right triangle whose legs are half of each diagonal, so the Pythagoras theorem gives the side.
How to find the speed of a boat in still water?
The speed in still water is half the sum of the downstream and upstream speeds. The speed of the stream is half their difference.
What is the difference between compound interest and simple interest?
Simple interest is calculated only on the original principal. Compound interest is calculated on the principal plus the interest already added, so it grows faster over time.
How to find the unit digit of a power of 7?
The last digit of powers of seven repeats in a cycle of four: seven, nine, three, one. Divide the exponent by four and use the remainder to pick the digit, taking a remainder of zero as the fourth position.

Marking & rules

Total marks
124 across 31 questions.
Negative marking
A wrong answer costs marks. Leaving a question unanswered costs nothing.
Attempts
100 in total. An attempt is spent the moment you begin one.

What you get when you submit

The analysis is ready the moment you submit the paper.

Score and accuracy

Marks, percentage, right, wrong and skipped, and the time you took.

Section by section

The same figures for each section, so a weak one cannot hide in an average.

The full answer key

Every question with your answer, the right one, the working, and the video where there is one.

Where you stand

Your score against the spread of everyone else who has sat this test.
