Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 40-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 40 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

IPMAT Indore 2026 QA Short Answer PYQ: Remainders, Counting and Geometry

This set is the Quantitative Ability Short Answer section of IPMAT Indore 2026, covering remainders, ratios, counting, progressions, geometry and algebra. Aptitude360 provides it free, and every question has a worked solution that shows the method step by step.

Topics covered in the IPMAT Indore 2026 short answer quant

  • Sets and overlapping preferences among a group of friends
  • Profit and loss with discounts on marked prices
  • Remainders of large powers and modulus inequalities with a square root
  • Ratio change when workers leave a company
  • Choosing integers so that their product meets a divisibility condition
  • Semi-annual compound interest, and speed and time with a delayed start
  • Common roots of quadratics, cyclic quadrilaterals, arithmetic progressions and temperature conversion
  • Determinant of a matrix built from powers of three variables

Key formulas for IPMAT short answer quant

  • Half-yearly compounding: \( A=P\left(1+\dfrac{r}{200}\right)^{2n} \)
  • Combinations: \( ^{n}C_{r}=\dfrac{n!}{r!\,(n-r)!} \)
  • nth term of an AP: \( a_{n}=a+(n-1)d \)
  • Ptolemy's theorem: \( AC\times BD=AB\times CD+AD\times BC \)
  • Vandermonde determinant: \( (b-a)(c-a)(c-b) \)
  • Temperature: \( F=\dfrac{9}{5}C+32 \)

Preparation tips for short answer quant

  • Find the remainder pattern of the base before handling large powers
  • If three lengths form a Pythagorean triple, the angle they enclose is a right angle, and in a cyclic quadrilateral the opposite angle is then also a right angle
  • For divisibility in selections, count the complementary cases and subtract them
  • In modulus inequalities, split the number line at the points where each expression inside the modulus becomes zero

Who should practise this section

It suits IPMAT Indore aspirants who have covered the quant syllabus and want to solve problems fully without relying on options.

FAQs about IPMAT Indore 2026 Quantitative Ability (Short Answer) PYQs

What is the short answer section in IPMAT Indore?
It is a quantitative section with no answer options. The candidate calculates the answer and enters the numerical value.
How to find the remainder of large powers
Find the repeating cycle of remainders when successive powers of the base are divided by the divisor. Then use the position of the exponent in that cycle, or take out a common factor first.
What is the formula for compound interest compounded half-yearly?
Halve the annual rate and double the number of years. The amount equals the principal times one plus half the rate as a decimal, raised to twice the number of years.
What is Ptolemy's theorem for a cyclic quadrilateral?
In a cyclic quadrilateral, the product of the diagonals equals the sum of the products of the two pairs of opposite sides.
