Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 25-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 25 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

Excretion and Reproduction Level 1 Biology Quiz for GK Beginners

Students starting general science revision can use this Level 1 quiz to build basics in excretion and reproduction. It covers the human excretory organs, how plants get rid of wastes, asexual methods in simple organisms and the parts of a flower. Aptitude360 explains every answer.

What this excretion and reproduction quiz covers

  • Kidneys, ureters, urinary bladder and urethra, and where the kidneys sit in the body
  • Nephrons, Bowman's capsule, removal of urea and re-absorption of glucose
  • Hemodialysis as artificial kidney treatment
  • Plant wastes through transpiration, falling leaves, vacuoles, resins and gums
  • Binary fission in Amoeba and Leishmania, multiple fission in Plasmodium, budding in Hydra, regeneration in Hydra and Planaria, and spores in the bread mould Rhizopus
  • Stamen, pistil, pollination, fertilisation and the placenta in humans

Basic concepts to learn first

  • Asexual reproduction needs only one parent, while sexual reproduction involves the fusion of male and female gametes
  • Vegetative propagation methods such as layering and grafting, used for plants like roses and grapes, and stem cuttings for sugarcane
  • Unisexual flowers like papaya compared with bisexual flowers like mustard and hibiscus
  • Self-pollination compared with cross-pollination

Study tips for beginners

  • Trace the path of urine from kidney to urethra aloud until the order is automatic
  • Pair every organism with its mode of reproduction on flashcards
  • Remember that after fertilisation the ovule becomes the seed and the ovary becomes the fruit

FAQs about Excretion and Reproduction – GK Quiz with Answers – Level 1

Define excretion and reproduction
Excretion is the removal of harmful metabolic wastes, such as urea, from the body. Reproduction is the process by which living organisms produce new individuals of their own kind.
What is the difference between excretion and reproduction?
Excretion keeps an individual organism alive by removing wastes. Reproduction does not help the individual survive but keeps the species going by producing offspring.
Excretion, irritability and reproduction are characteristics of what?
They are characteristics of living organisms. Non-living things do not excrete, respond to stimuli or reproduce.
What are the main parts of the human excretory system?
It consists of a pair of kidneys, a pair of ureters, the urinary bladder and the urethra. The kidneys filter blood, the ureters carry urine to the bladder, and urine leaves through the urethra.
