The Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), also known as FMS is one of the oldest management colleges in India. It was established even before IIM Ahmedabad. The college is famous for its low fees and high return on investment, and it competes strongly with top IIMs in final placements.
FMS notably offers an MBA (Master of Business Management) degree under the University of Delhi, not a PGDM (post graduate diploma in business management)

FMS Delhi Admission Process and Entrance Exam (CAT Cutoff & Selection Criteria)
FMS accepts admissions only through the CAT examination. It prepares the interview shortlist using a composite score based on CAT performance and Class 10 and Class 12 marks. The admission process does not give any advantage for work experience at any stage.
For a general category male engineer, the CAT cutoff for shortlisting is usually 99 percentile or higher. The selection process remains highly competitive and follows predefined weightages strictly.
The table below shows the weightage structure and admission criteria used by FMS.

Campus Life
Students often call FMS the Red Building of Dreams because of its red-brick building and high return on investment. However, since the college was established in 1954, its infrastructure does not match that of modern institutions. FMS also does not provide hostel facilities, which may leave some students dissatisfied due to the absence of a traditional residential campus experience.
Despite this, its location within the University of Delhi places it in the heart of Delhi’s student life. Being part of DU gives students access to a vibrant campus environment, diverse peer groups, and the broader youth culture of the city.
Compared to many business schools with much larger batch sizes, FMS has a relatively small batch of around 314 students. This smaller batch size makes it easier for students to stand out and gain visibility during academics, competitions, and placements.

Why Choose FMS Delhi for MBA? Key Differentiators and Career Outcomes
An MBA is usually an expensive degree, but FMS stands out with a total fee of around ₹3 lakh, which is significantly lower than most top business schools. Because of its extremely low fees and strong placement outcomes, FMS Delhi offers one of the highest returns on investment among Indian B-schools, often exceeding 10–12 times the total program cost.
Location also plays an important role in the value of an MBA. FMS is located in the national capital, New Delhi, and is surrounded by major service-sector and industrial hubs. This location helps with industry exposure, guest lectures, internships, and corporate interaction.
In terms of careers, FMS has a strong presence in finance and consulting roles. Over the years, recruiters have consistently hired students for these profiles, which has built the college’s reputation in these domains.
Final Verdict on FMS Delhi MBA (Is It Worth It?) – Aptitude360 Review
If you want a Starbucks experience at the price of cutting chai, FMS is a perfect fit. It offers most of the benefits of top IIMs at a much lower cost. Another major advantage is living in Delhi, where students can enjoy some of the best food options in the country during the two years of the MBA. However, FMS may not suit health-conscious people, mainly because of Delhi’s air pollution situation.
