Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 60-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 60 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

SSC CHSL 2024 Tier 1 Question Paper: 3 July Shift 3 Previous Year Questions

SSC CHSL 2024 Tier 1, 3 July 2024 Shift 3, is reproduced here as an actual previous-year paper. Its questions span English grammar and vocabulary, coding and calendar reasoning, mensuration with data interpretation, and General Awareness, including polity. Aptitude360 adds a full solution to each question.

What the 3 July 2024 Shift 3 paper tests

  • English: incorrect preposition, error detection in a sentence with quoted speech, cloze passage, sentence improvement, antonyms and synonyms, spelling errors
  • Reasoning: word coding, letter-to-number coding, calendar problems across years, number series, symbol interchange in equations, letter analogies, paper folding and cutting, odd one out
  • Maths: comparing fractions, area of a sector, bar graph and table data interpretation, square perimeter and area, BODMAS simplification, triangle inequality, volume of a cone, tangents to a circle
  • General Awareness: tribes of India, Representation of the People Act provisions, Green Revolution and HYV seeds, festivals, Deccan Plateau, industrial city nicknames, the Regulating Act and the Calcutta Supreme Court, census population trends, early hockey history

Key rules and ideas behind these questions

  • Any side of a triangle must be less than the sum and more than the difference of the other two
  • Tangents from an external point meet the radius at right angles, so the angle at that point and the angle at the centre are supplementary
  • A leap year adds one more odd day than a normal year in calendar shifts
  • Preposition errors often hide in fixed pairings of verbs and adjectives with particular prepositions

Preparation tips from this CHSL shift

  • Revise key provisions of the Representation of the People Act and the Regulating Act, including what each established
  • Write the operation swaps out before simplifying interchange equations
  • Practise reading bar graphs carefully, since percentage share questions need precise division
