Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 15-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 15 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

SSC CGL 2025 Tier 1 Quant PYQ (19 Sep, Shift 3): Topics and Key Formulas

Surds, reciprocal identities, simple interest, mensuration, trigonometry and circle geometry make up this set of SSC CGL 2025 Tier 1 Quantitative Aptitude questions from 19 September 2025, Shift 3. Aptitude360 presents the actual previous year questions of that shift, mixing arithmetic with advanced maths, and most of them carry a worked solution.

What the 19 Sep 2025 Shift 3 Maths paper asked

  • Algebra: ratios of sums and differences of cubes, higher powers of a number plus its reciprocal
  • Surds: rationalising denominators, comparing square roots
  • Arithmetic: marked price with discount, wage sharing by efficiency, simple interest growth and split investments
  • Mensuration: hollow cylinder, cone sliced by parallel planes, recast hemispheres, tank capacity
  • Trigonometry and coordinates: ratios from a given cotangent, a ladder against a wall, a point on a line
  • Geometry: tangents and secants, sectors, regular polygon angles, triangle congruence

Formulas worth revising for this CGL shift

  • Reciprocal square: \( x^{2}+\dfrac{1}{x^{2}}=\left(x+\dfrac{1}{x}\right)^{2}-2 \)
  • Simple interest: \( SI=\dfrac{P\times R\times T}{100} \)
  • Interior angle of a regular polygon: \( \dfrac{(n-2)\times 180^{\circ}}{n} \)
  • Tangent and secant from P: \( PA^{2}=PB\times PC \)
  • Sector area: \( \dfrac{\theta}{360^{\circ}}\times \pi r^{2} \)

How to prepare these Quant areas

  • Treat each top part of a sliced cone as a similar cone, since volumes vary as the cube of heights.
  • When a number plus its reciprocal is small, find the number itself before expanding long expressions.
  • In interest growth questions, write the interest as a multiple of the principal, then scale the time.
