Normal practice, or a Simulated test

Both use the same questions. Normal practice is untimed and needs no account: choose an option and the answer and solution appear at once. The Simulated test is the real computer-based format, with one 50-minute clock, a question palette and full screen, and your score, the key and the solutions arrive when you submit.

How the two modes differ
No account needed

Normal

Untimed

Every question on one page, loading as you scroll. Choose an option and see straight away whether it was right.

  • No timer. Nothing to start and nothing to submit. Stop whenever you like.
  • Answered as you choose. Tap an option and it is marked at once, with the correct answer shown.
  • Solutions in place. The explanation, and the video where one has been added, sit under the question.
  • Open to guests. Normal practice needs no sign-in.
Real exam conditions

Simulated

Timed CBT

The computer-based test format: one clock, a question palette, and a score the moment you submit.

  • A clock that does not pause. 50 minutes from the moment you begin, and the paper is submitted for you when it reaches zero.
  • Question palette. Answered, not answered and marked for review, section by section, as the real interface has it.
  • Full screen, proctored. The test takes over the screen; leaving it three times submits the paper.
  • Answers hidden until you submit. The key, the explanations and your score all arrive together at the end.

About this test

Input-Output Reasoning Level 2 Practice on Word and Number Machines

Aspirants who understand how arrangement machines work and want a step up can use this Level 2 input-output set on Aptitude360. Machines rearrange lines of words, numbers or both by a fixed rule, and you must work that rule out from an illustration. Every question includes a worked solution that shows the arrangement step by step.

Machine formats covered in this input-output set

  • Word machines: a line of words rearranged one step at a time
  • Number machines: lines of numbers, including three-digit numbers, rearranged by a fixed rule
  • Mixed machines: lines containing both words and numbers
  • Question styles: applying the rule to a new input, finding an element in a given step and identifying the last step

Ideas to be clear on before attempting machine questions

  • How many elements move in each step
  • Whether arranged elements gather at the left end, the right end or both
  • Whether placed elements stay fixed in later steps
  • How to carry a rule from one illustration over to a fresh input

Preparation advice for input-output reasoning

  • Compare the input with the first step closely to see which element moved
  • Test your rule on consecutive steps before applying it
  • Write each step in full in rough work instead of tracking positions mentally

Who benefits from this set

It suits bank and aptitude exam aspirants moving from basic machine questions to multi-step rearrangements.

FAQs about Input-Output Practice Questions with Detailed Solutions – Level 2

What is input-output in reasoning?
It is a topic in which a machine rearranges a line of words, numbers or both step by step using a fixed rule. You find the rule from an illustration and apply it to a new input.
How to solve input output questions reasoning quickly?
Compare the input with each step to see which element moves and where it goes. Once the rule holds across steps, apply it to the new input and write out every step.
Are input output questions asked in bank exams?
Yes, input-output is a familiar reasoning topic in bank exam preparation, usually set as word, number or mixed arrangement machines.
Can the previous step be found in an input-output question?
Not always. In many machines more than one line can lead to the same step, so an earlier step is fixed only when the rule allows a single possibility.
