A student from Panchkula came in for counselling last year convinced that BBA was out of reach because she had only heard of SSCBS and assumed that was the entire picture. It is not. This guide maps 15 BBA and management programme colleges to the score range each realistically requires, what makes each one worth considering, and which are accessible through CUET versus board merit or a separate admission process.
Note: Student scenarios in this blog are composite illustrations from counselling at Aptitude360. Names withheld for privacy.
A note on the data: Score ranges below are based on 2025 admission cycle data. Cutoffs shift every year. General category only. OBC, SC, ST, EWS cutoffs are significantly lower. Always verify on official portals before finalising any decision.
Important: Different scoring systems apply to different tiers in this list. DU Tier 1 and Tier 2 colleges use a 3-paper CUET composite out of 650 (Language 200 + Mathematics/Applied Maths 200 + General Test 250). Tier 3 regional universities use a standard CUET composite out of 800 or their own admission process. Local Chandigarh colleges admit on Class 12 board percentage. Do not compare scores across tiers directly.

How the DU BMS/BBA Composite Score Works
For DU BMS and BBA (FIA) programmes, the CUET composite is calculated as: 1 Language paper (200 marks) + Mathematics or Applied Mathematics (200 marks) + General Test / Section III (250 marks) = 650 marks maximum.
Mathematics is mandatory. There is no flexibility here. Students who did not study Maths or Applied Maths in Class 12 are not eligible for DU BMS or BBA (FIA) programmes. Many Commerce and Humanities students without Maths get caught off-guard by this. Check before registering.
The General Test carries 250 of the 650 marks, which is 38% of the total composite. A student who treats GAT preparation as an afterthought is effectively competing at a serious structural disadvantage. For BBA aspirants, GAT preparation is as important as Mathematics.
Note: SSCBS is located in Rohini, Sector 16, North Delhi, not on the main North Campus ridge. For Tricity families evaluating relocation, this is worth knowing before shortlisting hostel or PG accommodation.
For the full composite breakdown, normalization, and Punjab Board alignment, see our CUET-UG Master Guide.
Tier 1: The Most Competitive (555+ out of 650)
Only two DU colleges offer BBA (FIA) and BMS at the top tier. The scores required here reflect near-perfect performance across all three components. No single weak paper is recoverable at this level.
1. Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (SSCBS), Delhi University, Rohini
The most prestigious standalone management college in DU, offering both BMS and BBA (Financial Investment Analysis). The entire college is built around management education.
Cutoff (2025, Gen.): 555+ out of 650 for BMS | 575+ out of 650 for BBA (FIA)
Why it matters: Placement record and brand equity are unmatched at the undergraduate management level in DU. Top consulting, finance, and FMCG recruiters visit campus directly. Average placement package for 2024 batch was around 10.97 LPA with a highest of 28 LPA.
Worth knowing: Admission is purely CUET merit-based, no
management quota, no GD, no interview. What you score in those three papers is
the entire selection process. There is no other lever.
Official Website: https://sscbs.du.ac.in/
2. Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women, Delhi University
One of only two DU colleges offering BBA (FIA), and the only women's college offering it. Also offers BMS. Admission is restricted to women candidates.
Cutoff (2025, Gen.): 455+ out of 650
Why it matters: For women students, this is the second and only alternative to SSCBS for BBA (FIA) within DU. The cutoff at 455 out of 650 is meaningfully lower than SSCBS, so it serves as a realistic Tier 1 target for well-prepared women students who narrowly miss SSCBS.
Worth knowing: The same BBA (FIA) programme that SSCBS is known for is available here, with the same curriculum structure and DU affiliation, at a lower effective cutoff. For eligible students, this is a significant opportunity that many overlook.
Official Website: https://www.rajgurucollege.com/
Tier 2: Strong and Well-Regarded (480-540 out of 650)
These four DU colleges all offer BMS through CUET. The composite structure is the same (Language + Maths + GAT = 650), and all four give full access to the DU placement ecosystem, internship networks, and alumni base.
3. Keshav Mahavidyalaya, Delhi University — BMS
Cutoff (2025, Gen.): 512+ out of 650
Why it matters: A growing BMS programme with steadily improving placement records and active industry interaction. Full DU ecosystem access.
Worth knowing: Keshav has been visibly investing in its management programme infrastructure. Students entering now are joining a programme on an upward trajectory, which matters for the alumni network being built now.
Official Website: https://keshav.du.ac.in/
4. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya
College (DDUC), Delhi University — BMS
Cutoff (2025, Gen.): 525+ out of 650
Why it matters: DDUC is one of the confirmed DU BMS colleges and sits just below SGGSCC in the cutoff range, making it a realistic Tier 2 target for a well-prepared student.
Worth knowing: DDUC's BMS programme benefits from the college's broader Commerce faculty and a campus that draws a motivated student cohort from across Delhi. Placement and society infrastructure are well-established.
Official Website: http://dducollege.du.ac.in/
5. Ramanujan College, Delhi University — BMS
Cutoff (2025, Gen.): 483+ out of 650
Why it matters: One of the more accessible DU BMS options by cutoff, while still giving full access to the DU placement cell and internship network. A strong choice for students targeting a DU management degree at a realistic score.
Worth knowing: Ramanujan College is known for an academically engaged faculty and smaller batch sizes in its management programmes, which translates to more faculty time per student than you typically get in high-intake DU colleges.
Official Website: https://ramanujancollege.ac.in/
6. Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce (SGGSCC), Delhi University — BMS
Cutoff (2025, Gen.): 538+ out of 650 for General category. Significantly lower for Sikh Minority quota.
Why it matters: SGGSCC is a dedicated Commerce college, which means the entire faculty ecosystem, societies, placement preparation, and curriculum focus point in one direction. For a management student, that single-stream environment is an advantage.
Worth knowing: The Sikh Minority quota at SGGSCC offers meaningfully lower effective cutoffs for eligible students. If you qualify for the minority quota, the admission dynamics here are quite different from the General category picture.

Tier 3: Accessible CUET-Based and Regional Options
Score ranges for Tier 3 regional universities are out of 800 (standard 4-subject CUET composite) or based on the university's own process. Do not compare these directly to the DU 650-point scores above.
7. Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh — BBA
Cutoff (2025, Gen.): 230+ out of 800 (standard CUET composite)
Why it matters: A full central university BBA degree at one of the most accessible CUET score thresholds in this list. The central university designation carries the same classification as DU for government and PSU recruitment processes. Located in Mahendergarh, Haryana, so within reasonable distance from Tricity.
Worth knowing: For students who want a central university degree without relocating to Delhi or scoring above 500 in CUET, CUH is one of the most underrated options in the region.
Official Website: https://www.cuh.ac.in/
8. Chandigarh University, Gharuan — BBA
Admission basis: 50% or more in Class 12, or a qualifying CUET or CUCET score. Entrance is used for scholarship bracket placement rather than strict elimination. Verify current criteria at cuchd.in.
Why it matters: Strong industry tie-ups, large placement infrastructure, and a campus within commuting distance for many Tricity families. One of the most visible private university options in the region for a corporate-focused BBA experience.
Worth knowing: Chandigarh University's CUET acceptance means students applying here do not need a separate entrance test beyond what they are already preparing for.
Official Website: https://www.cuchd.in/
9. Panjab University (UBS / UIAMS), Chandigarh — BBA / Integrated MBA
Admission basis: PU-MET (Panjab University Management Entrance Test) score plus Class 12 weightage. Process and weightage ratio vary by year. Verify at puchd.ac.in.
Why it matters: PU Chandigarh is the most relevant local university for Tricity management aspirants. Zero relocation cost and a strong regional placement record with companies across the Mohali IT corridor and North Indian corporate belt.
Worth knowing: PU also offers an Integrated MBA through UIAMS, which is a 5-year program worth considering for students certain about a management career. Track both PU-MET and the CUET calendar simultaneously.
Official Website: https://puchd.ac.in/
10. Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar — BBA
Admission basis: State-centralised merit via Class 12 marks. Typically requires 85% or more for main campus admission. Verify at gndu.ac.in.
Why it matters: GNDU is a well-regarded institution across Punjab's government and corporate sectors. Its alumni network spans banking, public administration, and business across the state.
Worth knowing: GNDU's BBA benefits from the university's larger multi-faculty campus, giving management students cross-disciplinary exposure alongside the core programme.
Official Website: https://gndu.ac.in/
11. Punjabi University, Patiala — BBA
Admission basis: Merit-based via Class 12 marks. Typically 80% or more for top department batches. Verify at punjabiuniversity.ac.in.
Why it matters: A long-established Punjab institution with multi-decade history in management education. Well-recognised among Punjab-based recruiters and postgraduate institutions in the state.
Worth knowing: For students from the Malwa region, Punjabi University significantly reduces hostel and commute costs compared to Chandigarh or Delhi options. The alumni network in Punjab's public and private sector is well-established.

Local Chandigarh Options: UT Merit List (Class 12 Board Marks, Not CUET)
These four colleges admit through the UT Higher Education Department's centralised dynamic merit list based on Class 12 board percentage. The cutoffs below reflect the 2025 first round general category closing marks. These are board-mark percentages, not CUET scores.
Admission basis for all four: UT DHE merit list (Class 12 board marks), as of 2025. Not CUET-based currently. Confirm current year policy at the UT admission portal before applying.
12. Government College for Commerce and Business Administration (GCCBA), Sector 50, Chandigarh — BBA
Cutoff (2025, Gen.): 88% to 92% in Class 12
Why it matters: Government college fees, a dedicated Commerce and Business faculty, and a BBA programme with 80 confirmed seats. One of the lowest-cost BBA routes in the Tricity region without compromising on academic quality.
Worth knowing: Being a dedicated Commerce and Business college, all faculty time, events, and placement effort focuses entirely on management education. No resource dilution across other disciplines.
Official Website: http://www.gccbachd.org/
13. SD College (GGDSD), Sector 32, Chandigarh — BBA
Cutoff (2025, Gen.): 92% to 95% in Class 12 — the most competitive local college on this list
Why it matters: With 120 BBA seats and the highest board percentage cutoff among local Chandigarh colleges, SD College is a strongly regarded local management option with an active campus culture.
Worth knowing: SD College's location in Sector 32 places it close to Chandigarh's commercial belt. For BBA students specifically, proximity to local businesses is a practical advantage for internships and live project sourcing.
Official Website: https://ggdsd.ac.in/
14. MCM DAV College for Women, Sector 36, Chandigarh — BBA (Women-Only)
Cutoff (2025, Gen.): 87% to 90% in Class 12
Why it matters: A well-regarded women's college with a confirmed BBA programme and strong mentorship culture. Zero relocation cost for local families.
Worth knowing: MCM DAV has a consistent record of students progressing into CA, MBA, and professional roles after BBA. Faculty is known for strong support specifically for students targeting competitive postgraduate programmes.
Official Website: https://mcmdav.com/
15. DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh — BBA
Cutoff (2025, Gen.): 86% to 89% in Class 12
Why it matters: One of Chandigarh's oldest institutions with a confirmed BBA programme, deep local alumni presence, and a wide network across banking, corporate, and government roles in the Tricity.
Worth knowing: BBA at DAV Sector 10 is a self-financed
programme, so fees are higher than government-aided courses at the same
college. Check the current fee structure at davchd.ac.in before applying.

Pick the Target, Then Build the Plan
The 15 colleges on this list span a wide range of competitiveness, three different scoring systems, and four different cities. Every one of them offers a solid foundation for a management career. The right approach is to pick a realistic tier, understand the scoring system that applies to it, and prepare with precision toward that specific target, including the General Test for DU programmes.
