JIPMAT 2026: Eligibility, Exam Pattern, Marking Scheme & Selection Process (Complete Guide)
Joint Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test is a national-level entrance test conducted by the National Testing Agency for the 5-year integrated programme in management at IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya. Under this, students get dual degrees: BBA + MBA. However, there is an exit option post 3 years under certain conditions.

JIPMAT is open to all students across all streams—Science, Arts, and Commerce—and across various boards, such as State Boards, CBSE, IGCSE, and IB, provided they have met a certain percentage and are under the age of 20.

It's a 150-minute computer-based test designed to judge the basic aptitude and language proficiency of candidates. It is conducted in a multiple-choice question format, and no other language options are available other than English.

1) QA: Number systems (LCM, HCF, factors), Algebra (linear/quadratic equations), Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Time, Speed & Distance, Time & Work, Averages, Mixtures & Alligations, Geometry & Mensuration, Permutation & Combination, Probability, Set Theory, Functions & Graphs, Square roots, surds
2) DILR: Tables, Bar graphs, Line graphs, Pie charts, Caselets, Blood relations / Family tree, Coding & Decoding, Seating arrangement, Syllogisms, Statement & Assumptions, Direction sense, Series / Puzzles, Venn diagrams, Input-Output

There is no sectional time limit; students can switch between sections multiple times within the 150-minute duration. This provides students with an advantage, as they can leverage the sections where they have the highest accuracy.
Selection Process
Final Selection in JIPMAT 2026
JIPMAT follows a merit-based admission process where IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya release their individual merit lists, followed by subsequent waiting lists.
IIM Jammu
IIM Jammu releases its merit list based on a composite score, which
is calculated as follows:
- JIPMAT Score: 70%
- Class 10th Marks: 15%
- Class 12th Marks: 15%
- Gender Diversity: Female candidates receive an additional 5% weightage (or 5 marks) toward their final score.
IIM Bodh Gaya
IIM Bodh Gaya relies solely on the JIPMAT score for
its merit list and does not use a bonus point system. Instead, they
reserve 30% of their seats specifically for female candidates
(Supernumerary Girls seats) to ensure gender diversity.
Tie-Breaking Criteria For JIPMAT 2026
In the event of a tie, IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu uses the following hierarchical criteria. A student scoring higher in an earlier step will be ranked higher:
- Overall JIPMAT Score
- VARC Section Score
- QA Section Score
- DILR Section Score
- Class 10th Score
- Class 12th Score
- Year of Appearance in Class 12 (More recent is preferred)
- Year of Appearance in Class 10 (More recent is preferred)
- Date of Birth (Older candidates are typically ranked higher)
Reservation Policy for JIPMAT 2026
Admissions to both IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya are strictly governed by the Government of India (GoI) reservation policy. The distribution of seats across various categories is as follows:

Offer Acceptance and Withdrawal
Students who appear on the merit list must accept the admission offer by paying the acceptance fee within the stipulated timeframe. This fee is later adjusted against your Semester I tuition fees.
