IPMAT Rohtak 2027: Eligibility, Exam Pattern, Marking Scheme & Selection Process (Complete Guide)

Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test (IPMAT) is a national-level entrance test conducted by IIM Rohtak for the 5-year integrated programme in management at IIM Rohtak. Under this, students get dual degrees: BBA + MBA. However, there is an exit option post 3 years under certain conditions. Compared to the traditional path of taking the CAT for an IIM tag, IPMAT offers a less competitive and comparatively easier route to achieving that same IIM goal.

IPMAT Rohtak 2027 is open to all students across all streams—Science, Arts, and Commerce—and across various boards, such as State Boards, CBSE, IGCSE, and IB, provided they have met a certain percentage and are under the age of 20.

Selection Process

Final Selection in IPMAT Rohtak 2027

IPMAT Rohtak 2027 follows a merit-based admission process where IIM Rohtak releases a shortlist; following this, students undergo a Personal Interview (PI). The shortlist is solely based on the IPMAT test score. For this stage, the overall cutoff is the deciding factor, and no sectional cutoffs are taken into consideration.

IIM Rohtak releases its final merit list based on a composite score, which is calculated as follows:

  • IPMAT Score: 55%
  • Personal Interview (PI): 15%
  • Class 10th Marks: 10%
  • Class 12th Marks: 20%

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, absolutely. IPMAT Rohtak is open to students from all streams — Science, Commerce, and Arts — across all boards including CBSE, State Boards, IGCSE, and IB. There is no requirement to have studied Mathematics in Class 12. The only eligibility conditions are a minimum of 60% in both Class 10 and Class 12 (based on the best five subjects on the marksheet) for General candidates, and 55% for SC/ST/PwD candidates, along with the age limit of under 20 years.

IPMAT Rohtak is a 120-minute computer-based test with 120 questions across three sections: Quantitative Aptitude (40 questions), Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation (40 questions), and Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (40 questions). The marking scheme is +4 for a correct answer and -1 for a wrong answer. Crucially, there are no sectional time limits — you can freely switch between all three sections at any point within the 120-minute window. This is a significant strategic advantage over IPMAT Indore, which enforces a strict 40-minute sectional lock-in.

Significantly more than most students realise. The final merit list at IIM Rohtak is a composite score where IPMAT accounts for 55%, Personal Interview for 15%, Class 12th marks for 20%, and Class 10th marks for 10%. Together, board marks contribute 30% of the final merit score — the highest weightage given to academics among all IIM UG programme selection processes. If your board results are strong, IPMAT Rohtak is strategically one of the best exams to target, even if your aptitude test score is marginally below the top range.

This requires an honest evaluation. The 5-year programme leads to a dual BBA+MBA degree, which means you graduate at MBA-level placement eligibility — a meaningful advantage over a standard 3-year undergraduate degree. IIM Rohtak is an established IIM with a functioning placement cell and a growing alumni network. That said, IIM Rohtak is a newer campus compared to the older IIMs, and placement figures should be verified against the official placement report on iimrohtak.ac.in before making a financial commitment. For students who want an IIM MBA path secured immediately after Class 12, without the uncertainty of CAT three years later, the programme offers strong long-term value.

A structured 5 to 6 month preparation plan is the most reliable approach. Students we have worked with who began in May or June for an exam later in the year have consistently performed better than those who started in September or October. Given that IPMAT Rohtak has 120 questions across three sections in 120 minutes, speed and accuracy both need time to build. The good news is that IPMAT Rohtak preparation overlaps heavily with JIPMAT and, to a large extent, IPMAT Indore — making it efficient to prepare for multiple exams together.

Students who receive an admission offer must pay an Offer Acceptance Amount (OAA) of Rs. 1,00,000 within the stipulated deadline to secure their seat. This amount is not an additional charge — it is later adjusted against the First Year Programme Fee. If a student chooses to withdraw after paying, the refund policy is governed by IIM Rohtak's admissions terms for that cycle. Always check the official offer letter and admissions circular for withdrawal deadlines and refund conditions before making a decision.
